Re: THE CLASSIFIEDS - For Sale / Wanted

Hi,
I'm looking for a late 70's Ludwig brass black beauty. I'll pay $1500 or so if it's in nice shape. PM me if one is available, thanks.

Re: Do you think the integrity of music is decaying over time, much like morality?

You're freakin' killing me man. I don't think it's appropriate to discuss things like that on prime time television when my young children are watching. Talk to a physician or go to a library or...

Re: Do you think the integrity of music is decaying over time, much like morality?

Whoa! Holy crap! I never wanted to start a political/religous thread. Man, I am surprised by some responses and how this has touched a nerve in some of you. This was supposed to be just an innocent...

Do you think the integrity of music is decaying over time, much like morality?

It seems that each generation complains that music isn't what it used to be and that it's pretty much crap now. Just as moral decay is evident in society, do you think the same thing has happened to...

Re: Joyful Noise snare "club"

W.C. Brown, I didn't notice anything until you mentioned it. It does look like the bottom lugs have a bit of "splay/angle" that isn't apparent on the top or on any other JN snare I've ever seen....

Re: Q3 videos, Guru Origin kits

Andy, the classic series drums sounded awesome. Beautiful pure tone. I wonder how that kick drum would sound in a bigger "rock" size 22x14/16 or 24x14/16. The toms sounded wonderful, I would use...

Re: Joyful Noise snare "club"

I am a member of the "club" as well with a 6.5x14 legacy maple snare. It's awesome, everything I wanted in a wooden snare. I love the simplicity and low profile of the strainer too, cool design. Curt...

Re: Exclusive! Origin Classic range - first view of "Cappuccino" :).

Good luck Andy! I hope your booth is located next to a first aid station...I think there will be alot of heart attacks and bruised jaws from them hitting the floor after seeing and hearing your kits!...

Re: John Bonham R.I.P.

He's the first name that comes to your lips when the question "who was the greatest rock drummer of all time?" is asked. He found that illusive combination of feel, sound and chops that implanted...

Re: Full review - Origin series Performance range kit.

Congrats on the review Andy, I don't think you could give a drum kit any better review without sounding overly gushing or biased. I absolutely love everything about it. My biggest issue would...

Haha...I knew it! I am so happy for you man, I just knew they would rave about the kit. How can you not? It's truly an incredible example of technology and art. Congrats man, you have to be so...

Re: Should I drop $1100 on this Keller Maple Bonham kit?

I guess I'm guilty of being a "Bonham set geek". It took me a while to get it but man, was it worth it. Here it is: 1970 3 ply with re-rings, clear maple ludwig kit in green sparkle with 26x14 bass...

Re: Supraphonic size?

Haha...great deal. Judging from the pointy badge, that looks to be from the mid 70's. It's in great shape too. Great score!

Re: First pictures - Guru Origin series - Drummerworld exclusive!

That makes sense, never thought of the difference in manufacturers' collar depth. I'm a bit of a drum geek, as you may already have found out :), and I am just really taken aback by all the R&D that...

Re: First pictures - Guru Origin series - Drummerworld exclusive!

Man, I'm debating on getting a ticket over there as well. It'll be tough to swing with time and job, but it sure would be cool. Question Andy, with the re-rings being pretty close to the bearing...

I live in Pennsylvania too Larry and would love to check your kit out if/when you do decide to pull the trigger. I'm still blown away by all the cool design traits and physics defying hardware....not...

Re: Nickel or chrome?

A question about the lugs Andy, how is the reinforcement ring affected as far as marring goes when the tension rod is tightened to a higher torque? In other words, if a tension rod is tightened to a...

Re: Nickel or chrome?

I just got a look at the original post and I have to go with nickel. It looks way classier in my opinion, richer tone that says" high end" to me. If it was me looking at the drums and considering...

Re: Wood snares

I agree Larry. Evilg99 was right about Pee Wee jackson's ability to make anything sound good, but when I watched the clips of different snares that he played, the JN snare stood out to me as the one...

Re: Wood snares

I was pretty much a metal snare player all of my career until recently. I've been really enjoying my Joyful Noise 6.5x14 steambent legacy maple snare. Powerful, great tone and the "pop" of a metal...

Re: First pictures - Guru Origin series - Drummerworld exclusive!

Very good point and a smart business decision. Drum sounds are so subjective... what one person likes, another one dislikes. I think that for the most part, drummers that will be looking to your...

Re: First pictures - Guru Origin series - Drummerworld exclusive!

It would be worth coming just to see and hear that kit. You're gonna blow everybody away with that offering, it's just too distinctive and innovative to be ignored.
