Re: Man DId I Stink Last Night!
The other said it all - we all have days like that.
Don't let to much stress get to you. I'm sure everything will quickly come back to you : )

Re: Double pedals = 1/2 the drummer?
Why should it be about (new) vocabulary? For instance, aren't most of us spending hours training our weaker hand so it can be on par with our dominant hand?
I believe that for us to more or less...

Re: Double pedals = 1/2 the drummer?
This is a bit off KISS' initial interrogation but most of what I read here seems to be about using double pedal to play more or less intricate patterns to spice things up (be it a fill, a solo etc.)...

Senri Kawaguchi?
Yep there are a lot of talented youngsters around... But I think she's a very nice drummer and I love the fact that she covers songs from the anime K-On.

Re: Benny Greb
Awesome drummer, very nice person to meet!
I was lucky enough to meet him and help set up his kit a few years back when I was backlining for a local drum festival. He would walk up to everybody...

Re: Gretsch Catalina Maple vs. Yamaha Tour Custom
I've had experience with both Gretsch (Renowns and Catalinas in particular) and Yamaha kits backlining for local drums festivals and having them at my old drum school. While Gretsch makes very nice...

Re: Jumping/Standing on the bass drum
I would avoid it... You put your kick at risk of getting ruined and your band mate might get hurt. There are some other forms of stage presence that can make a good show.

Re: Absolute nouveau lugs
They are useful if you need to change heads at gigs in my opinion - since you don't have to remove the tension rods, neither those or the washers are at risk of getting lost rolling away somewhere. I...

Re: YAMAHA STAGE CUSTOM. new heads?
I also own a Stage Custom kit. For your set up I would recommend Evans G2s over G1s - over what I have tried this combination gave the best overall results. EC2 batters will sound too dead if your...

Re: Burying the Beater
On this I will agree with you - there will be more chances a rock or whatever drummer you want to call it would bury the beater than a Jazz drummer. Simply because of the type of sound the music...

Re: Burying the Beater
I consider letting off the beater to be the "right way" and the way it should be learnt (especially for balance reasons) - burying the beater is a sort of a technique, an effect in my opinion. Once...

Re: Playing Soft but...argh
My thing lately - I can't sleep so to pass time I practice at night on the pad sometimes. The thing is, in my house you can hear quite easily through the walls. I would set the metronome at the...
