Ive had a fair few bad experiances, mainly though using other peoples kits, but i always try and get out of lending my kit out - especially after the first time i took my then new mapex to a gig,.......

I used to have the same problem, but my playing matured and so did my setup.
I now play trad grip, so having a high tilted away snare means no problems in the thigh bruising department.
