I find that it could also depend on the type of grip you use. I prefer my toms more tilted when using matched, but more straight when using traditional. Depends on personal preference really.

i just use special musicians earplugs that are moulded to the shape of your ear.
they only take out that bad sounds so you can still hear your instrument

just thought id say that marching side drum can be the reality of drumming
if you have seen jim kilpatrick or other good pipe band drummers you would know wat i mean, it is absolutely amazing!!!!!
