Re: Manu Katche

Manu's a heck of a player.

I think his biggest strength really lies in his subtlies....he's not the type of player that just OVERWHELMS with you some crazy chops out fusion lick. I find that with...

Re: Neighbours Noise Problem with Electric Kit

I gotta agree with Stu here. I think it's ridiculous to expect all of your neighbors to put with your drumming at YOUR discretion. We're all people folks...I'd absolutely hate to spend a TON of...

Re: Karen Carpenter

Wow! I never thought I'd hear the Carpenters go into a crazy jam on a Beatles tune. That was pretty cool! She had outstanding control over her voice while drumming...those vibratos at the end of...

Re: Bare Feet, Socks or Shoes?

There's exceptions to that...a lot of exceptions actually. Wedding are a given, you don't want to wear your socks there. I've been on more than a few gigs, especially are nicer places, where...

My guitarist buddy just bought Oz Noy's "HA!" album with Keith Carlock and Anton Fig on it....and wow. I mean WOW. Keith Carlock has some of the funkiest, coolest grooves out there. They're...

Re: Dave Weckl

He's talking about the actual recording and tone of the instruments. I tend to agree....you get that super eq'd, perfect recorded, studio magic type of sound a LOT with fusion albums.

Don't get...

Re: Traditional grip with right hand?

Check out Lenny White. He's a left handed player, playing on a right handed set up. He's got his rides on his left and his toms are in a tradional right hand kinda set up...and he plays traditional...

I 'm actually going to disagree here...Gadd does play the same solos a lot of the time at clinics and stuff like...but he plays literally the SAME solo. You could transcribe it and it would match up...
