Re: Do you think a drummer can't groove if he can't dance?

I disagree with your analogy. You can build a drum set but not be able to play it worth a lick. I also disagree with most people on here. Both drumming (well) and dancing (well) require the same...

Re: What Makes A Drums Volume ???

What makes a drum's volume? You hitting it.

Less hit = Less volume.

The adjustment is not to the drum, it is to the loose nut behind the snare, :)

Re: Is Drumming about Counting or Feeling?

I agree with both. A strong solid sense of timing is the basic skill that every drummer should have so the rest of the band can anchor on to the beat and play cohesively.

But at the end of the...

Re: Clean your Drums?

Jimmy D'Aquisto, the world renowned luthier and maker of five figure guitars was a friend of my father's. I would go and watch him make his masterpieces in his shop before his untimely death in...

Re: You know you are a drummer when...

I'll tell you something funny about this...
I am left handed but learned to play a right handed set and I play open handed. I have tried to set up my kit left handed several times but it just felt...

Re: You know you are a drummer when...

This post could have been condensed to say "you air drum all the time" :)

I play the steering wheel all the time while driving (and switch to left handed playing so I can properly play the bass...

Re: What do you think of this music?

Hey Connor.... where do we start?

Ok, first off, it seems that you enjoy playing drums and have practiced quite a bit to build up some chops. Good for you. It's important to have fun playing.

Re: NEED INPUT/ADVISE: WHAT SABIAN/PAISTE CRASH CYMBALS ARE THE BEST$

You aren't annoying anyone cluckers. I am just trying to save you some buyer's remorse. I have fallen prey over the years to buying what others said was "the best" only to hear something I liked...

Re: NEED INPUT/ADVISE: WHAT SABIAN/PAISTE CRASH CYMBALS ARE THE BEST$

It's been said a thousand times..... but go in to the drum shop, try all the cymbals, and decide what YOU like. I went into my area drum center with the intention of getting all new cymbals. I was a...
