Hey man look into a book called Linear Drumming by Mike Johnston. good stuff
and just watch a bunch of youtube vids lol, you can pick up a lot of good stuff
But remember groove is key

and like deathmetalconga said, this style of playing is particular to its genre, and also amen to the double bass obsession

so you would just count it as double stroke rolls, so 1 8th note = 2 strokes? lol im confused
and from excercises 13-24 it says 7 stroke roll so yea

ok guys i need some help, on page 12, is the "closed roll" just another word for a buzz roll?
and if it is, why does it say 9 stroke roll under the bar of first excercise?
help is appreciated
