Help identifying Snare drum

Pictures don't show near enough, says it's a Ludwig. Hoping someone can tell me if it's something worth buying.

Re: Are Jazz Drummers Overrated?

This is way more of a trolling a statement than the OP and statements like that only foment the division between genres.

Honestly, whether consciously or not, I think most folks (myself included)...

Re: Can't get over nostalgia?

I hadn't been able to get online for a few days to check this. Thanks for the encouragement.

I absolutely still want to play drums. There were other contributing factors to my lack of playing for...

Can't get over nostalgia?

I was blessed to play in a phenomenal band from '91-'98. We basically learned to play our instruments together and had this incredible chemistry, both as friends and even more so musically. After we...

Re: ever play four up, one or two down?

I have 4 up, 2 down and 1 left side, though anything but a normal size run. Racks are 8x4, 8x6, 8x7, 10x8 with 12x9 and 14x14 on the floor and 10x8 on the left of the hi-hat.

Re: Pic of me circa 1976

Here's my old band Disinter circa '92. I'm in the front doing my best to look evil with my happening sideburns.I'd be the one in the foreground. I must say that the greatest thing about getting my...

Nylon vs. Steel washers

I'm getting ready to replace most of the Hardware on my Acrolite and have pretty much everything picked out except washers. I've heard that Nylon will stay in tune longer, but I'm not sure. What...

Re: Local shop rip-offs

I guess I'm pretty lucky. The local drum shop here, Jungle Drums, is pretty competitive on most things and carries a wide variety of stuff from beginner to high end. Heads are rather expensive there,...

Re: Anyone NOT want to be a pro?

I don't really want to be a pro. I started playing when I was 18 (36 now) and was in a band the day I bought my 1st kit. We were all beginners and our playing evolved together. Even then, my goal was...

Re: Finally i have the drum gear for which many people fought for

Glad to see the cymbal bag made it. It was cutting it close on shipping time when I sent it. I was actually a couple days away from selling it on ebay when I saw the original thread. I'm glad to see...

Re: What would happen if...

We played a gig with Cynic back in the 90's and Sean Reinert and one of the guitar techs started playing Back in Black. He played it just like the album for the first several bars then ghost notes...

Re: Appeal for Leo, our drummer friend in Cuba.

I had some family issues come up and couldn't make it to the post yesterday, but I got it mailed today. I've shipped tons of stuff to Canada and it should get there in time unless Customs "loses" it...

Re: Most Embarrassing Moments.

Back in the 90's Cannibal Corpse, Sinister and Cynic played locally and we got to open for them. Sean Reinert (Cynic) is one of my drum heroes, so of course he walks behind me as I drop a stick and...

Re: Appeal for Leo, our drummer friend in Cuba.

As I said above, I'd be happy to send a cymbal bag. It's a Zildjian. I've had it for a couple of years, but it's never been used. I could toss some misc. repair parts in the pocket as well, like bass...

Re: Improve fills

Deepest Secrets Beneath by Leviathan helped me a lot back in the mid 90's. They were a Prog Metal band. Extremely tight stuff. Surprisingly, you can still get a copy pretty cheap at Amazon. Might be...

Re: Chuck Biscuits (1965-October 29, 2009)

Wow, that's really sad. Chuck was a big influence on me, both from a playing standpoint and with his stage presence. I remember seeing him live on the How the Gods Kill tour and he had amazing...

Re: Why does this drummer sit so far back?

I definitely couldn't sit back that far, but then I'm 5'8" on a good day and have really broad shoulders and short arms (and legs). It's all about comfort and body type, I think.
