Re: Anti-Slip Drumsticks?

Zildjian & Vic have sticks dipped in rubber for added grip.
Same dip you can get from Home Depot for dipping your tools in.

Pro Mark has basic models (7A, 5A, 5B) available with a thick lacquer...

Re: Endorsement information

Most deals are exclusive, though hardware Vs. Drums can be an exception. You will occasionally see someone who plays Ludwig, but has a deal with DW for pedals or hardware. Ideally most companies want...

Re: What's your story about how you started drumming?

My mothers side of the family is all drummers....

My Mom, her Brother, their Father... Even a number of my 1st, 2nd, 3rd, cousins are all drummers. And if you aren't a drummer, you married one! No...

Re: Satellite Dish Anyone?

I've used satellite dishes in the past with Street Drum Corps. I got away from them because they just didn't last long. I'd have that thing cracked and destroyed inside of 4 weeks :(

Re: Yes, professional grade drum kits are pushed!

We had similar issues up at Griffith Park this past October.
We kept our kit set up for the whole month. Only played 4 nights a week, and just left it on stage the rest of the week. We didn't have...

Re: suggestions for best rods and brushes

Regal Tip classic retractable brush (583R) is still the benchmark.
I also use their Thai Sticks (Rods)... Like them better than Hot Rods.

Re: Vinnie Colaiuta back with Yamaha?

I know Vinnie has a good relationship with the folks over at Yamaha. And they are accommodating to him, because well... he's Vinnie. Don't know if anything is official, but Vinnie is at a point where...

Re: Putting band name on kick drum head, with multiple bands?

I have multiple kick heads. I don't invest my own money in them though. If the band wants to have a logo kick head, make the band pay for it. Then swap for each gig...

That's what I do anyway.

Re: Hand percussion drum kit

I put together a neat little percussion kit for gigs.
It started with a 10" Djembe on a big Gibralter Djembe stand. I clamped a Bong stand to the back so now the two bongs sit over the Djembe (Like...

Re: Professional responsibility

I'll be honest.
I don't really ever watch "Drum Videos" on You Tube.
I know few of the online teachers and "You Tube Stars".
That kind of stuff doesn't appeal to me.

That being said, I keep...

Re: The matching snare

I actually got my first matching snare a couple years ago.
Came with my new Yamaha Kit. I don't use it all the time, but mostly due to the fact that I change snares depending on the gigs. This...

Re: Famous Metal drummers?

I've seen a lot of Metal guys use a double pedal while still having a 2nd bass drum set up just for looks. Tommy Lee, Samantha Maloney (while playing with crue), Joey Jordison (though he used...

Re: Why aren't Recording Customs popular today?

I have a set of 25 year old RC's. I play them practically every day and use them on just about 100% of my recording sessions. They are my prized possession and I'll be buried in those drums!

Re: Session work gear must haves?

I've gotten in the habit of collecting gear that can be used universally, specifically for session work. 99% of the time I use my 1988/89 Recording Custom. I start with a basic 4pc setup, and add...

So the folks over at Yamaha Drums made me a special toy!

Re: Yamaha's Chinese Factory Quality

The new Yamaha's are amazing and anyone who has says otherwise probably hasn't sat and played them. I used a Live Custom Oak on a gig this year and I fell in love! I could use one of those kits for...

Re: Using a Metronome/Click on stage

I use a click live 100% of the time.

If it's a gig with no tracks I feed a signal in from a Yamaha DTX Drum Module to an 8 channel mixer. The whole system is hard wired together in a road case.

That's an interesting mix... considering the style drummers the Pumpkins have had in the past. Jimmy Chamberlin, Kenny Aronoff, ect...

Makes sense, Crue is doing a farewell tour this summer, so if...
