Re: Are young musicians, cool, or nerds.

A bit of both. Musicians can totally be sexy, but like John Lennon once said, if you want to be as good as The Beatles you would have to practice 100 hours for every one hour spent on stage, so it...

Re: Sharing Your Own Drums At Gigs

It always makes me really mad when friends think its ok to start playing my drums, they do it anyways. So personally I would see if it is really necessary before agreeing to it.

Re: Most music on the radio is trash?

I basically only listen to classic rock. There are a few modern musicians i listen to, because above all else i value good song writing. As lame as some people view them, Green Day is probably the...

Re: Bands ahead of their time? The 60's

Actually I Feel Fine by The Beatles is the first deliberate use of feedback. It was released a year before.

On that note, obviously i will say The Beatles, also my favorite band. Next would be The...

Re: Neil Peart

I find it so interesting just how polarizing opinions can be. For instance, a large majority of this site seems to hold Keith Moon and Neil Peart in less than favorable light, however they are my two...

Re: Which drummer are you?

I am much more of a band drummer. I like to belong to a band and be involved in the creative process of writing songs/lyrics.

Re: How to look cool?

Act like you are getting sexual pleasure out of the drums. At the end of a song when you are working that crash for that epic finish, make your O face. Girls will think you are passionate, or just...

Teaching the drums

Hey gang. So a friend of my sister wants me to teach her the drums and even said she would throw in a little money. I am not working for any music school or anything, just me and my kit at my house,...

Re: Annoying things people say to drummers...

I find it highly offensive when people view the drums as extremely easy, simple, or not a real instrument/drummer as not real musicians. Probably the worst thing i could think of.

Re: Random days your playing sucks

Yeah it happens all the time and i hate it. Some days i will literally play like a god, and i walk away from the kit feeling like Neil Peart's apprentice. Then some days i will walk away like, wow...

Re: Took lessons for 2 years, but not sure how much I learned?

I think i know how you feel a bit. I have been taking lessons for about two years, and sometimes when i sit down and play i realize i have a few beats i use a lot and feel like i should use more. But...

Re: I smelled something burning!

Wow, that thing looks pretty messed up. If the case still functions though i would not worry about it. When you have money, get a new one, just be content your case is not totally gone.

Re: IM AMPLIFYING MY KIT = HELP

Re: the life span of a drumkit...

I would say a drum kit could last you a life time. Now you would have to buy new hardware for it of course but just the original kit itself i think would be able to survive plus the additions too it...

Re: Your opinion on Modern Drummer magazine's "Drum Hall Of Fame"?

Re: IS SOLO DRUMMING MUSIC?

I don't see why its not music. Why is a guitar by itself considered music anymore than drums?
