Re: Need help getting back to basics/exercises for Carpeltunel

Definitely try to get with a private teacher that really knows Moeller well since you're looking to get up to speed quickly.

Re: Which hand technique has the most speed 'potential'?

Take 100 different people who have never held sticks, have them do the same exercises, the same number of hours every day for a year. I guarantee you that they will have varying levels of competency...

Re: Introductory Drum Books

Great, I'll definitely check this out. This one seems like it will have a little more life to it than Alfred's. Thanks!

Re: Tied triplets counting in Stick Control

Cool how a simple question on triplets can turn into a neat philosophical discussion on lengths of percussion notes and how to perceive them while playing. Good stuff.

Re: Drums that make the song

So many things I agree with here. Tool with The Grudge, Porcupine Tree with Sound of Muzak. Have to add this little known band called Damiera that have some great drum parts going with their tunes,...

Re: Got Sacked from my Band

I like this advice. Not a big fan of the "every happens for a reason" camp. Everything happens because people do things from my perspective. Best thing to do is avoid burning bridges and move...

Introductory Drum Books

Hey Gang - Just wondering what teacher's are starting their students on these days. I know when I was studying, Alfred's Book 1, etc. were staples. Wondering if that's still the standard as well as...

Re: Best video for Technique?

One more vote for Jojo's DVD. It's the best, most complete DVD purely on hand technique that there is.

Re: Traditional necessary for me to learn?

I love traditional, and if you have the time and resources to put into it, such as finding a teacher who is proficient at the grip, it's a great thing to do. When I started playing with it, I found...

Re: Reasonable Price for 97 DW Collectors just like Peart's?

Yes, there is definitely an 8 inch and an 18 inch that I don't have with this kit, but I'm not sure about the two 15 inchers... I think it was 14,15,16 and then the 18 was mounted an an angle (like...

Re: Reasonable Price for 97 DW Collectors just like Peart's?

Thanks for the responses, and sorry for this post in the first place. I guess I'm really just not ready to sell this kit. It was my dream kit, but it looks I'll start by performing sexual acts to...

I'm wondering what people think I might get for a 1997 red sparkle (lacquer) DW kit with gold hardware that was made in the same specs as Neil's kit on Test for Echo and the following tour.
It has...

Stay away from energy drinks with caffeine and vitamin B overloading. Drink tons and tons of water and keep the stimulants to a minimum.

Re: My New Ludwig Centennials (good and bad news!)

The problem is that if the guy that dropped the shell and ruined it admitted it to his superiors they'd probably shoot him and his family. So, he tried a quick fix...
