Re: A month and no drums

Ehh it's only been a month, which is a lot but if you were practicing that much your chops won't dissipate from a only month of no drumming. Taking time off definitely brings up creativity as well....

Re: Open handed technique

Sorry bud but I always reply to everyone when they're trying to converse me directly, I don't like to ignore people.

Re: Open handed technique

Inconsistency? I haven't changed or gone back on anything I said. Maybe because I have to reword the same thing ten times in a row it comes out inconsistent. Idk what to tell you about Greb, he's...

Re: Open handed technique

Actually this is only a sub arguement between me and PFoG and anyone else who decides to jump in. If you saw my reply to JacobT then you'd know we're still discussing the original topic as well....

Re: Self taught drummer.. how do I take my drumming to the next level

If you're getting lessons in anything it needs to be technique and fundamentals. This is most important when beginning. Feeling stuck in rut with stickings/patterns? Don't worry you're not alone, we...

Re: Open handed technique

I'm not calling anyone a moron, this is a forum and interacting with musicians is the best way to learn. Let me say that it's not my definition and it isn't a definition in general. It's not a...

Re: Open handed technique

-most drummers(and people in general) are right handed- there goes that social norm again, try and use it so we're all on the same page.
-casually throwing it around? doesn't matter if they're...

Re: Open handed technique

The point is you force your left hand (and foot for this matter) to take full lead through practice. After you practice your left hand will be comfortable and it will feel natural. Not shouldn't, it...

Re: Open handed technique

It shouldn't feel any different , and it definitely shouldn't be reversed notes, because that's a reversed beat... If your not actually leading with your left correctly I wouldn't say you're playing...

Re: Open handed technique

I don't use remote hats because there not necessary and they feel different. Learning to control your limbs you can lead with your left hand and lead your right foot at the same time pretty easily....
