Re: Drumming dreams

I dream of receiving, (ie. winning or being gifted) vast sums of money. I always wake up feeling gutted that I haven't got a pot to piss in.

I think it's all down to a costly divorce which left my...

One evening, many years ago, me and my work colleagues all walked out of the...

Re: The kind of night that makes you wonder why you even bother

Some of those guys would have had stuff in the car I bet.

Should have called their bluffs and said "sorry guys, I gotta go to work straight after the gig" or some such bluff.

I've only had...

Re: Too Old To Play???

Started afresh at 42 after something like a 15 year hiatus from drums and been in a gigging band now for two years and a bit.

Lucky to be gifted with generally good health, but I am a very...

Re: Do you accept every gig you're offered or are you picky?

Me and our band will play any gigs we can play with the exception of the cancer of 'pay to play'.

But we'll play for free if it's local and we'd a) be rehearsing anyway or b) have nothing else on....

Re: Drinking and Drumming

But it's also a pain inhibitor and can push you to go through walls. Maybe the point is one does occasionally get cramping but brushes it off.

Gotta admit, our band have been doing some gigs at...

Re: Preparing for the first gig

Small tip. You don't need to shell out a hundred quid for a bespoke, specialist drum rug. I use a large childs play rug. One of those with road drawings on for kids to play with their cars on. It has...

Re: Preparing for the first gig

At least for the opening parts be very careful to concentrate on your timing. When I'm nervous I always start to race. And it can cause the sound to get a little messy. So, after time, I've learnt to...

Re: Chris Squire, Yes Bassist found dead

Devastated today.

My favourite bass player out of my favourite band. Gone.

It's a sad day.

RIP Fish. Thank you for some of the most wonderful music ever written and performed.
