Hi Wildbill,

I was able to get some nice $$$ for the hybrid kit. In addition I got a new Live Oak to go with my older oak custom kit. I just really like the live oak, was the hybrid beautiful?...

So I have been playing oak customs and live customs and love both kits, always wanted the maple hybrid so I sold the live oaks and traded in a tour custom to fund the hybrid kit. Beautiful red...

Anyone know what type of throw this might be? I measured the screws there are two horizontal that seems to be 1" apart, then another screw 2" centered above the bottom 2.

If that makes any sense?

I had the Live Customs and they are great drums. Sound great and very well made. I also play the older Oak Custom, those are great too, not as heavy. I'm sure the new ones will be very well made...

Yamaha Live Oak going away this Fall

Yamaha will be introducing a new line of Oak drums after Fall of 2018. I believe cost to manufacture current Live Oak may have something to do with it.

Replacement oak drums already in the works...

Yes crank that bottom head. I love Remo heads on the toms but for my snares the Evans reverse dot does it for me.

I am very comfortable using a 4 piece kit, I will switch out the 10 & 12 sometimes. But like you said, I watch some videos too (Larnell included) and love the options of doing fills with both 10&12....
