one thing that helped me learn Rosanna nearly note for note is the Jammit app. i signed up & got the 1 track for free. the transcription is really REALLY nice & the way the app scrolls thru it helps...

one fix that is always motivated me: GO to a jam. you will play some tunes great, others will suck. makes an "emotional dent" & instant motivation, gets u practicing & then back to the same jam....

something quick you can try that worked for me on an 18". put the EMAD batter back on but remove the muffle ring...plastic "tray" only (the thing that is affixed to the head & holds the muffle...
