As loose as I can without having that extra space between felt and hat. I just losen it until I have that annoying extra click when depressing down with my foot then tighten it until thst click goes...

2:20 to 2:22 looks like fast single stroke , all finger.
I can't do that kind of stuff but can have the same effect/sound with doubles. As long as it comes out the wsy you want it, the sticking...

I pretty much have the same setup without the rack. Ride mounts to the kick , low crash mounts to floor tom leg , add 2 regular cymbal stands.

I would go for a used kit in your local Cl. There are way too many drumsets out there and you should be able to get a pro set for 1K.
I have a 90's yamaha beech custom that would sell for 600-800...

I used to do some back line stuff in the 80's and we had 3 sets of recording customs in cherry red. All the drummers loved them things and comments were like "finally something good" " woohoo"...

Try to exaggerate things. Get the backbeat really loud with misled and add arm motion then leave the stick as close to the head as you can and just barely tap the head.

I have a 24X17 yamaha tour custom and everyone compliments me on that kick. Have a clear ps3 on it and stoch yamaha head up front with a small hole (looks like ps3 also).

I bought the tour customs for $400 and looking to do it as cheap as possible. Removing the lacquer would be pretty much free , just time consuming. Bum wrap would be adding at least a couple $100...
