Re: Unpopular Drumming Opinion Thread

I hate muffling. I bought the drums. I want all the tone. Tune for Christ sake.

Re: Do you call it a kick drum or bass drum?

I got to thinking; if I was having a conversation with someone who took issue of my referencing a bass drum as a kick drum, I'd probably just walk away from such pretention.

Re: Do you call it a kick drum or bass drum?

Re: Stefanie Eulinberg - Kid Rock Drummer

She's a solid player but boy, I just can't get passed how horrible kid rock is. Unfortunately, I just fail to see or hear anything he does as relevant. He has no songs, no talent and is very confused...

Re: So what's up with Ludwig 2014

The last thing that kit looks like is a Ludwig kit. I may have to sit back and ingest this for a bit before judging any further? Are they maple shells? I know they're USA but what spec?

Re: groove vs chops?

I tend to agree with others who feel that chops is being able to keep up confidently. I think going on an all out assault is related more to virtuoism. I think chops are related to feel in that your...

Re: Can a mediocre drummer be a good teacher?

People should be allowed to have an opinion without others calling it ridiculous or wrong. People here are sometimes very righteous. We are adults and think we can agree to disagree without...

Re: Can a mediocre drummer be a good teacher?

Man, you guys are a rough crowd. Sorry but I enjoy taking more simplistic approaches to thought. I am aware that there are exceptions to all rules. Not to understand that is ignorant. But the reality...

Re: Can a mediocre drummer be a good teacher?

Let me clarify. I do think a teacher needs a host of skill. I also think one of his/her students may be able to be way better than said teacher because of skill mastery that even the teacher...

Re: Can a mediocre drummer be a good teacher?

To have knowledge is a very different thing than having skill. They are two separate attributes. So I believe strongly that a mediocre player can be a spectacular teacher. Those who can, do. Those...

Re: I can only play original music?
