Should you start with electronic drums? NO. In fact, if I were you, I wouldn't use electronic drums at all. Here's why. If you want to use electronic drums, you need to use a computer to set it up....

Jam block mounting

One thing that you do is play the basic jazz ride pattern, and play the eighth notes of the snare pattern on the snare, and non eighth notes of the snare patternon the bass drum.

My drum teacher had told me that it was the edge of the cymbal, but i dont think there are any other names for that part besides the edge. Based on listening to it, it could be the bell.

Once you get used to it, it wont seem as hard as it was before. I used to play crossed over, but my arm would get tired doing that, so now i play open handed.

That is actually a timbale. I am looking at the drum kit setup from the hold your fire tour, which i believe is when this was filmed. The drum setup is from the book "taking center stage."

Ok, so I am currently studying "if 6 was 9" by Hendrix. I am using the book "experience Hendrix", and in the chart for the song it says above a sixteenth note grouping on the ride cymbal "on crown."...
