Re: For Rush Fans-Exclusuve Interveiw on Canadian National News

Maybe not so rare. I never miss the playoffs on CBC. The National, Fifth Estate, Strombo, all great shows. Detroit loves it some HNIC and Don Cherry! I was jacked that this year we finally got CBC in...

Re: Clarification/Judging Musicality

What does "one" mean? You? You might not say that, but some might.

Why is that idiocy to compare the two?

Re: Taking Responsibility For Your Music

Thanks, now I have to think about my band's covers. We do QOTSA - Feel Good Hit of the Summer. Is that bad?

Re: taking cymbals and a snare on the air plane

Just remember that if you check something you cannot lock it (they need to be able to search it later). If you have an irreplaceable snare or cymbal you may want to be careful with it. Theft happens...

Re: Pearl Forum vs Tama Rockstar

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Tama replace the rockstar line with the superstar? I don't see Rockstar on their site. I think the Rockstar was their old intermediate set, while the Forum is...

Re: My 0up3down crazy idea

Yeah, I'd like to try one actually. I had a DW9000 remote and it was fun to play around with at home (see my setup pics in sig) but it would have been impractical to play out with. I sold it recently...

Re: My 0up3down crazy idea

Pretty cool. Have you considered this offset hi hat from gibraltar? I haven't used it but it seems pretty cool. Cheaper than a cable remote I think.

Re: The most distinctive drummers

Hope you don't mind if I steal about half of your list Polly.

Bill Bruford - Unmistakable touch.
Stewart Copeland - Pushes the beat around
John Bonham - Thunderous groove
Keith Moon - Over the...

Re: Played out songs the masses love to dance to

I agree. If the same beat that I like to play is accompanied by a chord progression or something I hate it will affect my enjoyment of playing it.

Bermuda does make a good point though. If you...

Re: My 0up3down crazy idea

Sorry Polly, not to speak for Harry, but I think he meant something like this Sonor pedal.

I don't ever remember Bill playing a double though. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: My 0up3down crazy idea

Cool man. And you should probably get that tom that's for sale if the color is discontinued. It's always nice to have a little extra. I wanted to try a 20" BD and saw a few on Ebay in my color but...

Re: My 0up3down crazy idea

Thanks. Jack seems to do very well with his setup. I love his playing with the Dead Weather.

Just curious, I know you stated you love the thunder of the big toms, but don't you think you'll miss...

Re: My 0up3down crazy idea

The first setup is very Jack White ish.

Whatever feels comfortable for you though is the key. I don't think you need a 12" if you don't think so. The only way you'll know for sure is by trying it.

Re: On behalf of creativity.

Thank you for that. Reminds me of the Dana Carvey chopping Broccoli song.

And the KISS video was killer too.

Re: Terrible day

Were you not using your own equipment? At the very least, I would bring my own pedal and sticks to a recording session. Like you said, nerves have probably the most to do with it, but using unfamilar...

Re: Played out songs the masses love to dance to

It probably depends on what your goal is as a band. It seems to me there are two main different categories local bands fall into.

Cover band - Will usually be hired by a bar to play the whole...

Re: The Best Drum Brands In Order Are????

I'm not even gonna make a list, but just one question. Seriously. How does anyone put Pearl ahead of Sonor? I mean, really?

OK, I will make a list. Whatever.

1. Sonor
2. Ludwig
3.DW
4. GMS...
