Re: Your drumming "thing"?

Re: Nylon vs. Chrome Tension Rod Washers

I use steel over nylon combination. I like the look of those nylon sleeves, however.

Re: Do you switch between grips? Why?

As many have confirmed, I use both grips and switch between them regularly even within a song. When I have some crash sequences upcomming, I'll go with matched, when i have more intricate snare sork...

Re: Building a Snare

I just lost interest...

Re: Building a Snare

KIS:
I completely agree...especially with the list of unmentioned caveots! But I think a 13x7, 1/2"+ with 45+1/4 round over from any species would do just fine. but, yes, I am in complete...

Re: Building a Snare

Oh, and size?? 13x 6 or 13 x 7 is a GREAT size. I love the crack from my 13x7segmented burl maple. I also built a great sounding 13x4 stave of ash for a friend...I really wish I still had that snare.

Re: How do you approach a drum solo?

Re: Is it possible for my drums to be holding me back?

In a word, no. the drums are not holding you back. However due to familiarity you are likely just in a comfortable rut. We all covet what is just around the corner...it is not necessarily better,...
