Re: Special order another 805 rack tom?

805 toms come in 12" if you get the kit with the smaller kick drum, don't they?

If that's the case, you should be able to get one fairly easily. The biggest problem might be finding out who...

Re: Ultimate Drumset!!

There should be a forum rule against posting this link...

Every time I go there I try to rationalize a purchase with thoughts like "well, I don't really need a car...".

Re: Drums Outside Overnight

my drums live in my garage all year long, when they're not on stage of course. The temps here range from -40 in the dead of winter to 110 in summer. I've never had a problem with drums getting...

Pacific 805 KITS?

Anyone played one at a shop somewhere? I've been thinking about getting a kit with bigger drums, and I've also been thinking about having that kit have birch shells. I saw a picture of a PDP 805...

Re: Boycott the spangalang~!!

It's not often one stumbles across a thread that's hilarious at the same time it's educated and deeply insightful.

I was taught by some guy called Jim Rupp that swinging is about feel, not the...

Re: The Black Panther thread! For all BP snare fans and owners....

I just got mine a week ago.

It's the same 12x7 cherry/maple that 6 other people have already posted.

I got it for 139 bucks (US).

It's PERFECT for the ska project we're starting.

Re: 20 x 12 kick drum?

I fixed up a kit for a friend of mine that had a 20x14 inch kick drum. I couldn't believe how good it sounded wide open with a superkick 2 and an evans EQ3 reso. I still go thump it a couple times...

Re: Praise Your Local Drum Shop

I lived in Denver for a couple months once and that's the only drum shop I made it to. That's where I got my breakbeat ride. The guy asked if i wanted to try it out and handed me a stick. I tapped...

Re: Hi-Hat Foot Use

I find myself stomping the hi hat pedal on 8th notes CONSTANTLY if I'm not using it as the ride instrument. It's almost to the point of being a crutch for me, but I've learned to use it to my...

Re: If it HAD to be a 9-piece...

I'd do what I've been planning forever and add an 18x16" kick on a remote pedal.

That would bring my drum count to 9.

22 and 18" kicks
10, 12, 14 and 16" toms
14 and 12" snares
18" rototom

Re: Cover/Plug for Tom Mount on Bass Drum?

I was thinking about this the other day too.

I think eventually I want to get a custom piece made out of steel with my name or some sort of logo CNC'd into it, sort of like a big custom drum...

Re: How much do you use your 8" Tom?

I totally agree.

When my kit got discontinued, i had to choose between getting the 16" floor and getting the 8" rack. I got the 16 because I knew it more, but looking back, I wish I would have...

Re: pdp drums?

PDPs have always come with the crappiest kick drum heads available I think. And the hardware, except for the tom mounting system, which kicks ass, is worthless. My hihat stand broke like 2 weeks...

Re: pdp drums?

Not every Pacific kit has crappy bearing edges...

Back when I got mine, which was while the factories were still in Japan, instead of Baja california, there were very very few reports of anything...

Re: Standard jazz ride pattern?

talking about how a standard swing ride pattern should sound in terms of mathematics just doesn't seem to work in my mind.

I generally keep it right on the triplets, but depending on soloists, or...
