Re: That moment...

Thatís a fact and all a matter of perspective. Life is funny that way. You could drive a beater for years and nothing, and I do mean nothing will ever happen to it. Objects somehow align and launch...

Re: That moment...

I feel your pain! I had my Sledgehammer snare stored out of a case (case was ordered and due to arrive in two days). I was cleaning things up and a spare stand slipped out of my hand, bounced then...

Re: 6.5x14 Gretsch Chrome Over Steel Snare?

Thatís how I got there as well. Was looking for a wood snare, but heard the Gretsch COB and asked about it here. Then heard the bronze and had to at least try it. No one around me had either, but...

Re: Best wood ever for a snare drum??????

Brich ply is the best. Says so right there. Sounds even better when paired with MasterCaps neeps.

Re: Well this is humbling: Hit Like A Girl, Bonham edition

Sheís incredible! I think Iím going to set my drums ablaze! Canít sell them after they have been contaminated by my so called playing. Iíll be logging off DW permanently and never speaking of...

Re: Woeful suckfest :(

Iíve been trying. I think the first ingredient in the recipe should be Musicianís that want to do better than the crowd and may even want to push themselves...a frightening proposition it seems!

Re: Why the same songs, when so many to choose from?

Two reasons why people will go see bands usually. To see something new, kick back and relax, or to dance. You may be able to get someone on a dance floor if you just happen to have a catchy...

Re: 6.5x14 Gretsch Chrome Over Steel Snare?

I picked up the USA Custom bronze instead. It was on sale for $40 more at the time, so couldnít pass it up. Love it. Very warm. Nice tuning range, and rim shots and side sticks are amazingly crisp....

Re: Tune Bot - Worthwhile or Not?

Thereís one thing that has me puzzled! I find lugs that sound way off at times, but TuneBot says they are spot on. If I follow TuneBot the drum will sound amazing, but if I follow my ears, it sounds...

Re: Woeful suckfest :(

Not to go off topic, but every time I see your band play in videos it confirms Iím not out there with my quest to play fun songs. It does however take real players with a desire to push themselves to...

Re: Woeful suckfest :(

All that for 20 minutes! Iíd be ticked too. What a waste! Sorry Andy! A suck fest indeed!!!
I used to play in an original band years ago. Tons of fun usually till we hit the stage. It was anyoneís...

Re: Gretsch Drummers - what's the best color/finish?

Sometimes having options means you end up with a non conclusive thread like this! I would never pick this color out of a catalog, but seeing it all put together makes all the difference.

Re: Gretsch Drummers - what's the best color/finish?

The biggest problem I see with Gretsch marketing is they donít showcase their finishes all that well on their site. I remember seeing a few finishes online and think meh, then see them in person and...

Re: Anybody else find practicing moeller relaxing?

I get lost in pretty much with anything complex. There’s so much brain power required for somethings, how would you not get sucked in? It’s part of what makes drumming so fun.

Re: Trainwrecks anyone?

It wasn't too long ago I was asked to fill in at church. The drummer broke his arm. Short notice, but no worries, I knew the songs and could easily slide in and play the parts. During rehearsal...

Re: Why the same songs, when so many to choose from?

Woolwich,
You absolutely nailed it. This has been my experience with my former church bands as well as the originals I was in. Iíve been looking for the same experience with a cover band and they...

Re: A Non-Anonymous Section..?

Exactly, and you're never as anonymous as you would think or could hope for. Can't see how bullies and trolls can't put this together. if they did, they'd be far more polite.

I have a code for...

Re: Why the same songs, when so many to choose from?

This is exactly what Iím referring to. Having a list, a real list where you can play a punch list of songs to call from depending on the venue, the crowd, etc. Iíve been in original bands in the...

Re: Why the same songs, when so many to choose from?

That’s is my point. I could easily come up with a list of 100 songs or more that people love to hear, but to everyone around me, the song list is always the same 20. Just met up with guys who said...

Why the same songs, when so many to choose from?

Thereís been an ongoing theme with cover bands with everyone playing the same song lists regardless of venue or band, mostly played average or best, and Iím not singling out the drummer. You could...

I found that with me I go back and forth if I have two snares Iím not quite digging or two snares (wood and brass)I totally dig. With the first scenario I would switch to reduce the pain and with the...

Re: Forum Views Drum Gear vs. Forum Views Drum Technique..

Thatís pretty creative. Definitely speaks to how quickly a good fill can go bad. Dig his plays on the Boone fills. Especially the Pat tripping Debbie one.

Re: Forum Views Drum Gear vs. Forum Views Drum Technique..

Got it. Definitely not cool to be one of those. Reminds me of Rushís Subdivisions songĒ...conform or be cast outĒ

I always thought that was Little Richardís song! Watching the video Iím not...
