Re: Musicians Say streaming Music will Leave them Broke.

I dont know about you guys but I'm making BANK on streaming revenue. I'm pulling down a hefty $1.25 or so EVERY MONTH!

Seriously though. I stream some music, I download (legally and pay for...

Re: Chad vs Will

I thought it was great. It was entertaining, which was the point. Ending with the cowbell was awesome.

Re: Anyone know how much touring drummers get paid?

This is an interesting thread. I had no intention of replying, as I don't ( and have no desire to tour). But I just want to thank Bermuda for his insight.

Re: Well I just dan gun broke my right foot!

I did the exact same thing last year. Broke my right foot. Had that stupid boot for 6 weeks. I didn't drum at all during that time. Driving was tough. I took the boot off when I got to the car...

Re: Using a 10'' tom as main rack

I ended up ditching my 16" tom since I last posted in this thread. I have been using a 10/14 set up for a few years now.

Re: Tilting the snare

I like flat, but I tend to hit the rim more often than I'd like so I tilt it just a little toward me. Same with the rack tom.

Re: I hate the people who book clubs

You're not alone, OP. The scene sucks, and it's not just where you are. Make me want to give up. And since my guitar player is moving to Florida TODAY, I just might.

Re: Earasers vs. Hearos High Fidelity?

I bought a set of these last week. I really like them. I got the medium size. They fit well. I wore them for 1 band practice, probably 2 hours or so. Sounded great.

Wore them last night for a...

Re: So it's my turn to have a band quandry..

I'm in an original band and my situation is very similar. What I like about what we do is that we are essentially self sustaining. I don't make any money from gigs, it goes back to the band, but it...

Re: Earasers vs. Hearos High Fidelity?

I use those too. While I like the sound I get with them they aren't very comfortable to me. I've been thinking about the Earasers for a while now. I should just buy them.

Re: Thoughts on YouTube Covers?

I pretty much subscribe to this theory. By and large I have zero interest in covers. Show me some original work.

Re: Are we too hard on people around here?

I've been on this forum for a while now but I don't post very often...for many of the reasons mentioned in this thread. I do find it to be some what harsh to new members. But I too avoid the "vs"...

Re: who here uses in-ear plugs?

I have been using earplugs for practice and live for well over 10 or 12 years now. I won't go without. I'll use cheap foam, whatever. Anything. I hate playing without.

Live I'm using these...

Re: Can we start a list of well-known studio recordings that have sloppy drumming in them?

Weird b/c Mike has said several times A7X is the only band he's ever used a click live for.

Re: Can we start a list of well-known studio recordings that have sloppy drumming in them?

Fresh Fruit...there's an album I haven't listened to in a long time.

For me, I think of a fill on Pennywise's "Straight Ahead" album. I can't remember which song but there's a really sloppy...

Re: Tama Star = $$$$

A salesman at Dale's told me $6700 for that kit last weekend. They do sound incredible.

Re: Tama Star = $$$$

They are pricey...but boy do they sound good. I got to play one at Dale's last weekend. Just unreal sound.

They were doing kit (10/12/14/16/22) *not sure if snare was included* for $6700.
