Re: All the great drummers played for....

i don't think you need to spend hours behind the kit every day to be great. and even if you did i don't see how i could do it when i have school and homework i also have to take care of.

Re: Anyone go to the guitar center drum off tonight?

haha thats a shame. nearly every one of the 9 drummers that competed in my city last night were great. one of the judges is my teacher and he said it was really really tough to decide two people.

Re: Drumming by yourself...

Re: What annoys you on peoples drum sets?

i guess i don't understand why everybody has such a huge problem with travis' setup. no, i wouldn't set up that way. but i read somewhere once that one of his first teachers was into that kind of...

Re: Starting Drums late (age 21 for me) and very upset about that.

i would start with a single pedal. i didn't start using a double pedal until a year or two into my playing and i'm glad because i think starting out with a single pedal helped me later in the sense...

Re: Favorite metal drummer?

er1c, i do have to agree that metal drumming does have a high amount of sameness and lack of creativity today. but there are still the select few who stand out though.

Re: Travis Barker

i agree. he's nowhere close to "the best." i've seen several videos of his drum soloes and they all consist basically of a long drawn out 16th note (not very fast) fill, then he throws in a catchy...

Re: Mike Portnoy

i'd say a band comparable to dream theater would be between the buried and me. they're a progressive type metal band that sounds similar to DT in many ways. one big difference though is that BTBAM...
