Re: first drum set for beginner

WHAT!? And how come I do not see a Ludwig set on that list, sir? Yes, you could say I'm (abnormally) biased towards Ludwig, but Tama also makes some great bigenner drums. My first drum set was a...

Sheet music for advanced breakbeat?

Hey everyone, sorry I've been so idle. My laptop broke and it took quite a bit of time to get a new one. I guess warranties are worth the extra money... Anyways, does anyone have any instructional...

Re: clearer double strokes on the bass

I can't stand that technique, to me, its like wasted effort. And besides, I'm mainly using my heel toe for double bass, so doing the slide technique wouldn't really work out.

Re: clearer double strokes on the bass

Yeah, I guess the power will increase when it comes to power. I was just wondering since I now have two drumsets (and my parants are divorced) I'll have a set at each house. Because I only have one...

Re: that "new head" feeling

Yeah, its like a pair of shoes, you gotta break 'em in to get that "full experience." (that sounds a little weird, but you get my point...) And the new look definitely contributes to it ;)

that "new head" feeling

Is it just me, or do you guys also love that "new head" feeling? It's almost as if you have a brand new set. (to me at least...) I'm not sure why, but I am extremely excited to stop by my local drum...

Re: clearer double strokes on the bass

Bump...
Also, would a longboard pedal help when it comes to power? I'm not going to get a longboard for this exact reason though.

clearer double strokes on the bass

Any ideas on how to make my double strokes on my bass drum more clear? obviously you won't get as much power as you will with singles, but when I do the heel toe motion you cant hear my strokes well,...

On the topic of snare buzz/snare wires...

Would there be a drastic difference in snare buzz (mainly from the bass drum and floor toms) between a 20-strand supraphonic snare wire and a 20-strand puresound blaster snare wire? Or what about 20...

Re: heel toe or swivel?

For the swivel, I'm using iron cobras, which are fine, but what settings would you recommend? Higher footboard angle? Shorter distance between head and the beater? I always have the spring tension...

Re: heel toe or swivel?

I've heard that the swivel can do some bad things to your knees though, and since I'm also a big basketball player, that would be a problem.

heel toe or swivel?

I can't decide, it's like snowboarding versus skiiing; one is easier to learn, but harder to master, the other is harder to learn, but easier to master. Obviously, with the swivel, you get a lot more...

Re: my beautiful, new ludwig w/ supra-phonic snare!

And since i put white coated heats on the toms, everything will really blend in with the vintage head. I also saw something at my local drum shop where it had a vintage head like buddy richs...

So sad... Although I didn't like the band when they came out with their newest album, I always loved the drummer. RIP.

Re: Is this a good swivel technique practice routine?

Noo when I'm just cruising on the set I'll use regular heel-up until about 180 or 190bpm. Im just using the swivel right now at that tempo to learn how to control it and for my left foot to get used...

snare buzz? :/

So with the new ludwig kit I got, I also received a beautiful LM402 (6.5x14 supraphonic) and whenever I'm hitting the bass drum, whether its double bass, quads, doubles, or just singles, I get this...
