Indeed. The fulcrum should be between the thumb and the hand, not the index finger and the index finger, or the index finger and whatever you're supposed to be doing holding it like that.

Then I learned to groove with my whole body--kind of dancing as I drum, though not too overtly.

If you make a mistake, regardless of how slight or obvious, shrug it off and keep the beat going. I used to get flustered when I'd make a mistake, and just stop playing or try to "fix" the mistake. ...

The floor tom part isn't that effective of proof, in my opinion. The application of petroleum jelly is not the only difference between lugs and floor tom leg brackets. The lugs will have a lot more...

I'm generally barefoot most of my life, so I've grown used to doing everything barefoot, including drumming. I can play with shoes on, but I prefer barefoot.
