Toms are suspended at the rims with tom mounts. Less expensive drums have toms attached on the side.

More tuning lugs. The bass drum may have 10 lugs.

There aren't many jams near me. There were jams a few years ago, then musicians seem to have lost interest. I can't figure it out.

When I was in school they had us reading drum scores. I don't remember studying rudiments, but I did practice drum rolls at home. And of course the kids at school would play drum rolls for each other...

Anyone can sell teaching services. The quality varies and each teacher is different. For beginners just basic drumming skill might be enough.. When the student is ready for more and does not get what...

Maybe set a goal and a deadline and see if you reach your goal. If you arenít reaching your goal then consider changing something, possibly your teacher.

Something similar happened to me once. I was playing a gig and carpenters next door were hammering away. It was impossible for band members to distinguish between the hammer sounds and drum sounds....

Once somebody's amplifier broke. The guitar player borrowed an amp but it sounded really bad. Really bad.
