I noticed in that picture, you have lopsided roundovers, FULL roundover (i.e. half of a circle), and "Pointed" roundovers.

I heard of people putting Roundover edges on ALL of their drums, but...

Have you tried the equivalent drum kit with Single 45's?

You say they sound "punchy and pronounced with a lot of sustain".

However, I wonder if that is due to the Dual edges.

Most people will have you believe a "Double" Cut Edge (i.e. Dual 45 cut or Dual 30 Degree cut) will have more resonance and better tuning ect. than their Single cut counterpart.

Are any other MXL's available there? I have had extreme success with MXL 2003A, MXL R40, and MXL R144 mics. (the Last two being ribbon mics, which are very good Cajon mics IMO)

ReneRu, may I make a suggestion? The Focusrite Saffire 6 USB Audio Interface only has a USB 1.1 as opposed to a USB 2.0

A 2.0 will be alot better. You can do some reaserch on this on google.

Firewire is great, but does your computer have a Firewire port?

I've never had a problem with my USB 2.0 before.


Something like the Tascam US-200 is Great if you only need a couple mic...
