In my case, with my time on the kit sorely limited, taking lessons is a great way to...

Re: Upcoming Concerts You Will Be Attending

I'm in Sydney.

Bonamassa - who my phone insists should be Mohandas - is for me. Williams is for my family, but i'm sure i'll enjoy it all the same.

Re: Worst song ever

Have you not been paying attention Larry?

It's this city!

Or maybe, misheard from another song, I think it's Cleveland.

'Cause the heart of rock 'n roll, the heart of rock 'n roll is in...

Re: Worst song ever

Great list there!

The trouble with some of these hated songs is that they were cool/good/fun in their time.

In the list you linked, "Don't Worry Be Happy" gets a mention. That's unfair - it's...

Re: How our perspective changes

Bo, the difference between your childhood experience and the "how can I play quietly?" threads is that the "quietly" threads are often started by players who discover relatively late in life that...

Re: Potential drummer; have a maybe controversial question

19? That's way too old.

What have you been doing with your life man?

Buy a really basic second hand drum kit for around $200...some cheap generic no name kit. Give it a try, take lessons,...

STXBob, while I share your attitude toward Coldplay, and I agree that when somebody is making money out of a performance, some portion of that money should flow to the performer, what New Tricks has...

Re: Help me choose which thread to read about which kit to buy

Don't read any of those threads.

Instead, read about which cymbals you ought to buy.

Re: Strange woman found lurking in the workshop ;)

If only Madge could find a well loved alumin(i)um snare drum somewhere.

@Andy - would that poor Jewish Racing Gold snare drum get that shape from twisting? It looks like it's half way to being a...

Re: Rhythm section practice – a good way to improve the band’s time

Re: Always sounding bad when practicing

And yet 50% of all drummers are below average.

The only reason not to play drums is because you don't enjoy playing.

The only reason not to practise drumming is because you are perfect.

BTW...

Re: What do you think of GetSticks.de?

Abso-damn-lutely!

Poor behaviour is like pornography: I recognise it when I see it.

The membership does a good job of reacting appropriately.

Re: Playing "War" what is it good for.

Re: playing along with stuff
