Re: DW DRUMS - thoughts?

I've already heard dw and renown drums next to each other with the same heads, and the dw had clearly more resonanse and tone to it. If I had to choose between dw or renown, I would go for dw.

Re: Getting a (total) custom kit....?

I think getting a custom kit doesn't make sense. Certainly not on your age and experience.

You should consider that if you'll have to play a lot of gig's, you'll have to transport the kit. Doing...

Re: Does new or better stuff improve your playing?

Better stuff..for e.g. a professional snaredrum will have more precision, etc. than a cheap one. Therefor you'll start playing more precise because it will be more hearable what you're doing.

Black Panther snares are great quality, they really impressed me. They have power, finesse, precision. Just everything.

Re: learning traditional grip: can it improve overall feel-technique?

Yes, but what he really means is that it's the sound you get out of it that counts. If you reach it with traditional, matched or by playing with your toes. It's the same. The most important is the...

Re: learning traditional grip: can it improve overall feel-technique?

If you're used to play matched and you're pleased with it, then it's just senseless to invest a lot of time in the traditional grip. Ok, it's never useless, but it wil not improve your time or filles...
