Re: Poll: Buddy Rich

I really never understand why people let a musician's personality cloud their judgement of their skills. Lots of people you may look up to may also be a holes and you just don't know it.

Buddy is...

Re: Acrolite and new emperor=broken lug

Interesting Les Ismore. I was inspecting the rest of them and one was loose so I took it off and found the posts broken on that one too. Good thing I have 4 replacement lugs on the way.

Re: Acrolite and new emperor=broken lug

"When you say the "lug popped", can you elaborate on that? Did the swivel nut break? Did you tension to the point where the swivel nut pulled through the lug?"

Both female threaded posts on the...

Re: Acrolite and new emperor=broken lug

Ugh. Well it wasn't 14mil, it was 7 mil. Unless that means 7 mil each ply? Feeling pretty foolish. Edit - Just looked and realized the 7 mil refers to each ply.

I had looked at heads that others...

Acrolite and new emperor=broken lug

So I finally purchased an acrolite. I bought one that looks to be a 1984. I took the snares and heads off, cleaned the shell, lugs, tensions rods and rims and was putting on a new emperor reso head....

I am going to check out this acro this weekend! Crossing my fingers it sounds good. Based on ludvigvondrumcrazy's original post it looks like circa 1984.

I used to have a 77 supra (bought it new...

Re: Linear "Bonham" Triplets poll and discussion

Re: Tricks for faster set up

Ya my mic clips have to be screwed on so that could be a time saver. And do you put all of the mics and clips into one bag?

Re: Tricks for faster set up

Re: Tricks for faster set up

I love both the clutch ideas. The quick release and the bag with foam for the clutch. I'll look into those. I also use a long hardware bag and most of my stands remain extended. I mark the book...
