Ludvwig epic kits?

I like the look and the sound of the Ludwig epic funk kits but I'm ideally after a kit I can use for studio and live situations in various genres of music, are these professional quality kits or not?...

14" floor tom as rack tom

I was wondering if a 14x14" floor tom would work well as a rack tom for a big drum sound and wondered if there are any drummers out there doing and how I could go about converting it?

Creating A Versatile Kit

Hi,
I was wondering just out of interest how a versatile drum set could be built.
What would you guys consider gear-wise for a kit you could play any style of music on?

What drums would you use?...

Re: New Kit Size HELP!

Yeah, I was a little confused when it came to the 24/13/18 and whether that would serve me well for jazz but then I remembered some of the old big band, swing drummers used bigger drums!

I'm after a new Gretsch kit.

Re: I just met Jojo Mayer and......

It is a real shame and after speaking to a few others in the audience after the clinic, outside the venue, my immediate thing to ask was "Did you enjoy it?". Not a positive opinion from anyone. I...

Re: 13" Tom As Bass Drum?

Hmm...you'd be surprised. It was very quiet, sounded nothing like a bass drum. A lot like playing a floor tom with a soft mallet.

13" Tom As Bass Drum?

I was at a Chris Johnson clinic a few weeks ago and looking at his kit (sorry I don't have any pics) it looked like he was using a 13x10" tom mounted on a gajate bracket with a pedal and it seemed he...

Eric that was mind-blowing! You're such an inspiration. Certainly one of my major influences as a jazz drummer.

Re: Can anyone identify this drum?

Looks like a mounted snare or a really shallow tom. Very nice finish however.

What Is This?

William Goldmith appears to have a black disc-shaped item hanging from a cymbal stand. Just wondered what it was. I've seen nothing like it before.

Gretsch Catalina Maple Bass Drum

Anyone bought an add-on bass drum for Gretsch Catalina Maple?

Is it drilled? Is there much I need to know about it?
