Re: Experienced drummers please advise

you don't need a dvd to cover this stuff. technique is all pretty self explanatory, in my opinion, until you get into the crazy stuff. you dont need jojo mayer's dvd. basically, just practice your...

Re: sight reading pieces

what i meant by transcribing is doing it yourself....i didnt mean purchasing someone elses transcriptions. go listen to a drum solo, and then write it down. all you need for that is a pencil and some...

Re: THE HALF TIME BERNARD PURDIE SHUFFLE

besides the killing grooves in the two steely dan tunes and the toto tune, i don't particularly like those songs. steely dan, while i am warming up to them, is pretty sterile as a group, same with...

Re: Metal Drumsticks For Use On Practice Pads

Re: Metal Drumsticks For Use On Practice Pads

i think using metal sticks is a HORRIBLE idea. i mean, sure jojo mayer has some serious hands, but so do lots of other people who didn't use metal sticks. my philosophy about that kind of thing is...

Re: Do drummers solo on bossa nova tunes?

yeah i mean, people solo on everything...theres no jazz rule, "drummers don't solo on bossas". some songs with latin beats that have drum solos that come to mind immediately are:
-a whole bunch of...
