Re: Ordering custom drums from Ludwig

But its not any cheaper to do it that way either so they are making all the profit. The prices they have listed there are also the same prices listed from my local drum shop.

Re: Novak moves to Sakae.

How many people bought Ludwig because Ringo used them? Bonham?

I think that's the point of an endorser. Companies use endorsers to help sell their product.

Re: Have I damaged my mount system?

I've not take apart my New Classic but I'm not sure you'd need to take the head off to check this. The mount is completely exterior to the shell so if something is loose enough on one of the New...

Do you have any pictures you can share of that? I'd be interested in seeing that.

Re: Sound deadening options in a basement

I'm sort of leaning towards the foam panel route in some strategic places on the wall. I just need to do some research on the best way to mount it to concrete walls. I don't necessarily want to do...

Sound deadening options in a basement

I'm looking at ways to deaden the sound in my basement of my house. It was built in the 1940's and while there is carpet on the "finished" part of the basement floor, the walls are concrete and the...

Re: Anyone wanna buy Buddy Rich's cymbals?

Has anyone ever been to the Donn Bennett website?

He has tons of stuff on there that are at outrageous prices.

50k for a Hal Blaine drumset. 20k for an Elvin Jones kit.19k for a the Joey kramer...

Re: Anyone wanna buy Buddy Rich's cymbals?

Obviously you can make an offer but for 30g, you can't do free shipping?

Re: Anton Fig's Letterman Kit on eBay

I was watching for a while a custom made Ludwig bop kit built for Clayton Cameron. Its still for a sale on ebay. Its starting at $1200 but its been for sale for at least a couple of months and I...

Re: Tilting the snare

As a drumline teacher, there is also a bit of a movement going on over the last 10 years or so to go back to the tilted snare even though the modern carrier has been flat since probably the late...

Re: What would one pay for 1969 LM400?

Thanks for the info. I actually decided to pass on the drum because I decided I'd rather have some new hardware and throne for my kits. Those drums are always available. The price was 170. Seemed...

What would one pay for 1969 LM400?

Just throwing this out there to see what people generally value this drum at. I have an opportunity to buy one with moderate pitting. Judging the pictures i've seen, its got decent pitting around the...

Re: So what's up with Ludwig 2014

Since this 3 piece configuration is $800. You'd probably be looking at a 4 piece configuration at $1100 would be my guess if that is an option to start with since we don't know what, if any...

Re: So what's up with Ludwig 2014

So the instructions pretty much confirm what I was sort of thinking but didn't think was possible. The lugs don't actually use any tools. They just fit into the slot and the deisgn of the insert is...

Re: So what's up with Ludwig 2014

If it does tighten with a drum key, they certainly do a good job of hiding the screw. Its exactly what i was looking for inside the drum when I looked but I saw no obvious screws on the casings at...

Re: So what's up with Ludwig 2014

If I recall correctly, the black insert actually runs through the entire piece and can be seen from the inside. I think its a pretty key piece into holding it together. Since it was already...

Re: So what's up with Ludwig 2014

Someone else on another drum forum posted a more natural finish that they saw in their local GC so it appears they have multiple finish options available. Looks like a more natural wood finish but...

Re: So what's up with Ludwig 2014

So I go into my local Guitar Center today on my way home from work to pick up a Vater Vintage Bomber beater I had ordered and what do I see sitting in of the floor of the drum room?

The 2014...

Re: Best online place to buy gear

I will say I've had nothing but issues with Guitar Center and online orders and shipping.

I recently bought a Vater Vintage Bomber Beater because I had a 10.00 certificate for completing a survey...

Re: How does everyone ship their drum kit?

It's a 7 piece Ludwig Epic in Mahogany Burst finish. It's the Euro set up with and 8" Tom add on.

Since I've acquired a Grestch bop kit, I'm also considering moving my Ludwig a Breakbeats kit too.

Re: Two pandeiros in a micro kit?

I don't know if a standard drum head fits on those pandeiros. Keep in mind the stanton moore model is made to be bashed with a drum stick but a traditional pandeiro is played more like a tambourine....
