Re: Questions for users who know something about Ludwig!

thats exactly it. the 14x13 tom is a rack, not floor tom! Wow. So was this power tom thing just something they tried to introduce to boost sales or something?

Re: Questions for users who know something about Ludwig!

i agree. the tone and sound is beautiful in every drum. And you cant even tell until you really look at the drums anyway. You have to inspect the floor tom individually until you really notice. But i...

Questions for users who know something about Ludwig!

About 6 months ago I bought a bass/3 tom shell pack advertised as 70s/80s Ludwig Classic Maples. Some music store in California had them up on ebay. I got them for about 850 American dollars. After...

Re: Bands ahead of their time? The 60's

i don't think they were ahead of their time as much as they were perfect for their time, because they started much of the innovation as far as rock goes.

Re: Thoughts on Ludwig "Epic X-over" series?

This is probably a step or two up from an intermediate level kit. It looks great, and apparently it sounds great. I thought i was going to buy one since it was priced so reasonably until i realized...

How to stop snare buzzing

I have had the odd problem with snare buzzing. It sometimes occurs after hitting it not quite in the centre of the skin and is not really heard while playing a beat (since the other drums and cymbals...

Re: The cost of perfection (according to your eyes & ears that is)

Shells only, or with hardware? because if you buy a kit with hardware that is new for $500, I think most drummers would not hesitate to doubt the quality of that kit. You get what you pay for, at the...

Re: The cost of perfection (according to your eyes & ears that is)

I agree that if you spend $1500 or $2000 on a kit, that extra $500 probably is not worth the minute upgrade in sound. What i do not agree with is that a kit costing $500 or less has a sound quality...

Re: Ringo Starr

Either someone is saying Purdie said he played on Beatles tracks, or Purdie is full of crap, because he contradicts himself about what happened, and if you read the disection of his claims, you can...

Re: 16x16 kick

If you wanted something thinner, a remo ambassador comes in a 16 bass size, and its a medium thickness (single ply 10-mil). I would not worry about the thickness too much tho. I know a guy who has a...

Re: 16x16 kick

Re: Top 5 Reasons It Sucks to be a Drummer

would say the cost of a great drum kit, and the cost of a great guitar rig would be about the same. For drums you need the shells, lets say around a grand to round things off. Then hardware, 500, and...

Re: Your best "wait what?" moment in drumming

When I first saw The Who live at the Isle of Wight, Keith Moon, during the song Water i think, does this crazy thing where he hits a rimshot, and lets his stick rebound in such a way that it flies...

Re: supraphonic snare adjusment nob
