Re: What do you think about Casey Cooper (COOP3RDRUMM3R)

Give the lad a break. He's still studying (it seems).

If he still only makes covers and not make any music of his own after he finishes, then something's wrong with his musical pursuits...Unless...

Re: What do you think about Casey Cooper (COOP3RDRUMM3R)

I'll just try to keep it short.

First off, it's good to hear things straight from the person himself.

I think the lad's been misjudged as having everything handed to him on a sliver platter...

Re: Counting off issue on the piano

No. But if there's a very, very small time delay, I don't think I can pick it up.

Re: Counting off issue on the piano

I'm well aware of that. But the problem is... how is my timing on the keys so off compared to my drum strokes?

Re: Counting off issue on the piano

Ah, I see. Actually, I don't have it written out. I'm just practicing counting off on one finger for now. I'll usually just choose a random note (eg: D) and play it.

Re: Counting off issue on the piano

I don't understand what you're saying much, but based on my interpretations, I assume that you're asking me whether I count off before playing ; I count an entire bar of 4/4 before starting; : "1...

Counting off issue on the piano

I've been learning how to play the piano/keys since last November in order to better understand music theory (and thus putting in that knowledge to improve my drumming).

But there's a problem.

Quick release lugs

So I've saw this picture at my friend's FB page showing off his refurbished(?) snare. It''s a 13 X 7 acrylic snare with LED lights.

What interests me the most, however, is the fact that it has...

Re: Endorsed to who?

Hmmm... if it were me, I'd choose SJC Custom Drums, Zildjian cymbals, Vic Firth sticks, Evans drumheads,Roland electronics, DW pedals, and Gibraltar hardware (and possibly, pedals).

Re: Should a drummer know how to play African, Indian, etc drums?

My acquaintance knows how to play both percussion and the drum set... Malay, Arab, African drums... You name a world/traditional percussion instrument, he knows how to play it, most likely.

His...

Re: What do you think about Casey Cooper (COOP3RDRUMM3R)

He's OK. To me, he's one of those drummers that have more flair(?) than substance. But from what I see, he's inspired lots of people to pick up a pair of sticks... and buy a set of EXX Exports or A...

Re: Identify the time signature(s) in this song

Thank you for answering. That really helped.

Now, on the last question... I'll try changing it up a bit.

Alright. Let's just say four bars of music has been given. All of them have eighth notes...

Re: What are the best sizes for a drum kit (limited space)?

Thank you.

But it's not actually... confirmed(?) that I would get the kit. I'll only start ordering if I ever find a house in Singapore. If I'm staying here, I'll just get myself a Catalina Maple...

Re: What are the best sizes for a drum kit (limited space)?

I'm looking for something with more definition and less volume, which is why I want a snare with those dimensions.

Re: What are the best sizes for a drum kit (limited space)?

Re: What are the best sizes for a drum kit (limited space)?

I play on a practice pad... for now. I'm saving up for a decent pedal and a Gibraltar practice kit.

I might take a look into one of those. Thanks for the suggestion. :)
