Re: New Drums Weekend!

I didnít realize pearl fitted the MCX line with die cast hoops. I had a set of BLK back in the 90ís and they were awesome sounding and looking drums.

Re: How cool is this?

I could put the largest bass drum into the back of my Forester if I strap the kids to the roof.

Iím surprised you donít have bags for those drums.

Re: New Gretsch USA Bell Brass Snare

Yeah, I agree with this! To the point that I sold my Black Beauty after getting a Gretsch Brooklyn Bell Brass. The Gretsch could cover the sound of the black beauty, but the beauty couldn't capture...

Re: Mid range kits

Those sound like the Renown 57 drums. Those triangles are actually stuck on and can be easily peeled off withought harming the lacquer. You just have to be a little patient. They look amazing...

Re: DW owners-do you tune to the "stamped" note?

I recently took the hardware off of two Gretsch toms (super heavy hardware, btw) to prep them for re wrapping and tapped the shells. I did get a tone out of them. With the hardware on, I heard a...

Re: Mid range kits

I guess given that you're in Italy, the mid range kits will cost over 1600 euros. The ones Kamak listed pretty much exemplify mid range sets. I don't know how musicians across the pond deal with...

Re: Ludwig Neusonic

Yeah, I was asking about wrapping the drums in the traditional way...outside of the molds.
Is anyone else making a maple/cherry combo shell? That combination intrigues me and I'd love to sit down...

Re: Ludwig Neusonic

For the record, I'm a big Ludwig fan and I hope the Neusonic becomes a juggernaut in the market.

I wonder what the cost of labor and materials is to wrap a set in the two available combinations? ...

Re: Ludwig Neusonic

I donít care for the name Neusonic. Will the line still be considered Neu in a few years? It doesnít fit with the naming of Ludwig's other USA made lines. I get that itís a break from tradition in...

Re: Ludwig Neusonic

Iím a fan of German cars and Iíve owned multiple Audis over the years. I decided I wanted a more practical ride that did everything I needed without the expense and hassle so I went Subaru. Damn...

Re: Acryllic drums

Are there differences in the acrylic itself from brand to brand? There are a few different brands making acrylic kits now and I'm wondering what differentiates one from another aside from bearing...

Re: How many have matching snare finish & brand with rest of kit?

I have a matching snare that came with my Gretsch New Classic set. Itís an awesome 10 ply maple snare that just happens to match the kit. I have a handful of other snares that donít match and...

Re: Choosing a Ludwig Kit

Thatís going to be a nice setup! As an owner of a set of Gretsch turquoise sparkle, I like your color choice.

Re: Another new Gretsch Kit

I think this is what SJC is doing well. Theyíre always posting videos, pics and testimonials from regular players. They get a lot of mileage out of that for practically no cost.

Re: Choosing a Ludwig Kit

Iíve played one some keystones and they are definitely suited for live gigs. They open up when you lay into them, but they lack the warmth of the maples especially at lower volumes. On another note,...

Re: Mapex Saturn V Tour Sale

Yeah, those are ridiculous prices for some great sounding drums. Even if the finish color is hideous or something, Iíd consider it at that price. (If I were in the market for some drums)

Re: Hollowed-log ash wood kit on eBay

I fully understand that. My kids are the same way even at 7 and 10 years old. Iíll be trying to get in just a few minutes behind the drums then a kid suddenly appears...lol
