Re: Next Stage Custom?

Actually I wasn't referring to what you wanted. I was referring to everybody not approving what you wanted. I was sticking up for you.

Thanks for making me regret that.

Re: Next Stage Custom?

Hey, the guy wants what he wants. More power to him. It's all harmless.

We have to watch that we don't become too closed minded. In everything.

Re: Perhaps it's time to get sensible?

To me, it's not the make or model, it's simply the size of the drum.

Re: Got drum gear invention/improvement ideas?

Oh hey! Capital idea sir.

I'm pissed off that I didn't think of it first :)

Well done!

Re: Perhaps it's time to get sensible?

I'll sing more praises of the 20. It's a tighter, funkier, punchy sound. I like a big kickass bass drum tone. An 18 is too small. It simply doesn't have enough horsepower.

But a 20 isn't. (Cue...

Got drum gear invention/improvement ideas?

OK so I'm bombarded with new ideas for drums on a regular basis. I-I-I can't stop it.

Here's the latest.

In the future, if there are still acoustic drums, or any other wood instrument for that...

Re: Perhaps it's time to get sensible?

Plus Bo, as you know, a 20" bass drum kit is just so much fun to play. You can really dominate it.

I use my regular full sized toms anymore with my 20 x 12" bass drum, 12/13/16. Plus I have a 10"...

Re: Cutting down the hat rod

NO! DON'T CUT!

It will throw off the feel. That hi hat was designed for that length/weight rod.

As you can tell I'm totally bullshitting.

I thought it was good bullshit though :)

Re: Perhaps it's time to get sensible?

IMO it would be a much better fit, a 20" bass drum. You'll look bigger behind a small kit than a big kit. It will be easier to play, easier to set up, easier on your back, people will see you...A big...

Re: A New Journey

This is the worst thing I ever heard.

Don't be averse to alternative treatments.

Wishing you my best Mitch. Hang tough buddy.

Re: Pearl Masters BCX demo video

This is good news to these ears. That was my main issue with Pearls, the thick shells.

Re: Guess what I left at home?!

It was a dark and stormy night...

I used to use a Zildjian cymbal safe. It's mostly round, and black. On load out one night in 2010, I propped my cymbal case against my passenger rear tire.

Re: Survey for a school assessment

IMO, 20% tin just makes the classiest bronze cymbal tone. It sounds the best to the most amount of people across the board. So it's the most popular among people who take their sound seriously....

Re: To rack or not to rack?

Bo, if I know you at all, I'd say you're not a rack guy. You're more old school.

Personally, I don't like the looks of racks at all. Straight, curved, gull winged, lowboy racks...they all offend...

Re: Why is it called "Decade" Maple?

I'll take that bet.

I bet a snare drum that they don't know either.

They could have gone the extra mile and named it Decadent Maple.

Re: Get better Andy!

Hey Andy,

On one hand, I'm relieved that you are actually able to go out and rehearse. That's pretty big. So that's a positive.

On the other hand you have to regain some former...

Re: Drum Hack: Floor Tom Sustain

Wow. Never saw this before. OK I knew a stickbag on the FT killed it, but to put some weight on the leg? Brilliant!

And I thought I'd seen it all.

Nice work fellas.

Re: Aches in my hand

Well it wasn't what I was expecting to see. It looks like your stick is indeed suspended off your palm, and you're not relying on your elbow for every hit.

So I have nothing.

Re: Aches in my hand

If you grip the stick like a hammer handle...meaning the stick is pressed against your palm...bad. There are many different ways to work the drumstick. The important thing IMO, no matter what method...
