Re: Will DW be the next Gibson (financial woes) in the future?

DW already made their money. Guitar Center purchased the kit at a cost, raised the price to hopefully make a profit back to their own coffers. DW isn't selling to GC on consignment.

Re: I'm tired of standard drumkits. Need inspiration and ideas

This is what I use to do. I had a cocktail pedal, hit an 18" floor tom and used a djembe as a snare. 12" hats and a small crash/ride. Made it easy to use hands and mallets

Re: NAMM 2018 New Gear Thread

It's about the sound, not the looks.

Re: DW PDP new logo!

Chad has been with DW for almost two years. (http://www.drummerworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=130477) Seems like they're only doing signature products with the PDP subsidiarity.

Re: British Drum Company

From the States and a Premier fan, I wish them the best.

I like the look of the kits, the hardware reminds me of the Beverley lugs and looks like what Premier could have been in this decade.

Re: 24" ride with 20" kick drummers.

I played a 24 or a 22 with a 20 bass and liked how it fit in. 24's were both Giant Beats.

Re: Drums - the stage prop du jour (Grammies content)

the worst offense was cutting off NIN/QOTSA w/ Dave Grohl and Lindsay Buckingham at the end. Just shows that no matter how big you are, some d**khead is always screwing up a show

Re: Ludwig's new Signet 105 drum line!

I have a couple of 20's, a 50's WFL & a 70s Gretsch and they both have 8. They sound fine, some folks just don't like something new.

Re: Terry Bozzio

Terry is always experimenting, he's an inventor too and a very creative guy. He keep switching out drums, trying different things. Lots don't "get" him but he's deeply influenced by Zappa and by...

Saw him with Vai after Bozzio and Abe Laboriel Jr. split. At the time, he rocked from Noble & Cooley's and did a helluva job. He was also Sheryl Crow's drummer (and boyfriend) before she broke big...

Re: Preshow Rituals

After I setup my kit, I wash my hands. I just don't like playing drums with dirty hands.
