Re: Are We Just Being Silly?

Sounds like the nagging wife/girlfriend has been playing you subliminal messages while you sleep.

Re: Removing a logo from bass drum head?

A little bit of Goof Off on a rag will take the ink right off. Beware using it on coated heads though, as it will take the coating off too.

Re: Drum set up for back strength

I did this same thing. Though I just did it to be able to get my toms lower and closer.

I tried to post pictures, but it's telling me that "a security token is missing"...?

Re: Question for you DW Experts

The only pedal I've ever broken was a DW. Snapped at the hinge. And those little drumkey operated screws that secure the cymbal tilters... I've come across SO many of those things where the hole...

Re: Anyone ever ported the batter kick drum head?

Pretty sure KickPort sells small ports that are meant to go on the batter side.

Re: Gretsch USA Custom 14x6.5 Cast Aluminum

Confused why? People collect all kinds of things. At least drum gear is all useable. It's not like he's collecting Cabbage Patch Kids, or Beanie Babies, or something else that just sits on a...

Re: Question for you DW Experts

Well that's not a very good mount then (the older version), if it's only usable at certain angles. I've had way too much trouble with DW drums/pedals/hardware in the past to really have faith in...

Re: Question for you DW Experts

I've played so many backline/rental DW kits with warped and sagging STMs with the gaskets (that go around the lugs) ripped up, or missing entirely.

Also pretty typical on the DW kits that I've...

Re: Struggling with Renowns

The white part is metal? This whole time, I thought the white part was just part of the paint job, and just the chrome trim bits were metal. Seems like a lot of extra metal on the drums. How did...

Re: Struggling with Renowns

When you removed the chevrons, did the white part come off with them?

Re: Taye Drums. Any good ?

I know it's not a drum. but I have a Taye XP-1 double pedal that is absolutely amazing. Very well-built, with plenty of adjustments. Taye really seems to make some good stuff.

Re: Neck pain from looking at music stand

Yoga...

Seriously. My neck and shoulder were all jacked up from playing/loading/unloading. Used to see a chiropractor about once a month. Someone suggested I try some yoga for it, and I haven't...

Re: Do you have better luck selling shell packs or complete sets?

A lot of drummers I've met (myself included) have pretty specific tastes. They may like the drums you're selling, but may not like the hardware/cymbals/throne. And, of course, everyone has their...

Re: One Drum Set Vs Several Drum Sets?

Trust me, I work a lot. Had to do 5 gigs in 3 days a few times. I was talking about having one giant shell bank (all the same) vs. multiple different kits. The shell bank I've got could easily be...

Re: Instrument infatuation

I had this exact experience at a gig last night. When I got there, the sound man was going on and on about how he had the drums "tuned perfectly", and "totally dialed in". The kit itself wasn't...

Re: So there's no such thing as an 11" tom...

I've met VERY few 14" toms/floor toms that I can get along with. I LOVE 15s. Sucks that they never caught on, and are so hard to come by.

Re: What's your latest purchase?

That's some nice looking wood there. I'm wondering where they found the two foot tension rods 😆. Seriously though, sweet kit!

Re: One Drum Set Vs Several Drum Sets?

I feel like if you have a good quality kit, with nothing too crazy going on (square toms, rototoms instead of regular toms, 30" deep kicks, etc.), You can cover just about anything with a little...

Re: One Drum Set Vs Several Drum Sets?

I've been a "multiple kits" guy for yeeeaaars, for three reasons. One, so I can cover pretty much any gig that comes my way. Two, for when I have multiple gigs in a short time, and need to have two...

Congrats! Always awesome when you find that one missing piece.

That's a Mapex Orion 15" tom/floor tom for me

Re: Next Stage Custom?

I'm fully aware of whose call it is. But not posting it because you think someone will get mad is ridiculous. I've never met another drummer (or any musician) who would be upset about someone...

Who knows if he can samba, meringue, or...
