Re: Gigging kit question

Let me respectfully disagree with the above comment on 18 inch bass drums...I have the Sonor Bop which comes with an 18 and it roars with a lot of projection and nice tone. Maybe the above...

Re: Separate Pieces?

I've looked in vain myself Frank...I bet this is a trade-off for making such an inexpensive line of kits...You can't by add-ons...I've decided when the time comes to expand my kit I'm going for Remo...

Re: First Foray

Well if your son is really serious about studying and playing drums then I would first consult with him about his preference...After all, as the player he will spending most of the time with the kit....

Re: Sonor Bop Review Finally!!!!!!!!!!!1

Well fellow Sonor lovers I finally have my baby up and running. My response in a word would be "Wow!" The 18' kick thunders. When I was a kid with what I believe was Pearl's only fiberglass kit,...

Re: 1,2 or 3 Rack toms

Ok there's a world of difference between these bands and drummers you've listed and what passes for modern day hip hop...Yes, Purdie and Mason are geniuses...But throw away the P-Daddy Ditty garbage.

Re: 1,2 or 3 Rack toms

Are you kidding me? R&B and Hip Hop?? All I hear when I hear that is either electronic percussion or straightforward 4/4 patterns with little to no variation, creativity or imagination!

Re: 1,2 or 3 Rack toms

R&B and Rap and creative drumming are two very different things. Whenever I hear a rap tune I don't even hear anything but electronically generated beats...Please, give us a break!

Re: Phil Ehart

If you listen to some Kansas tracks carefully, Phil's patterns are so intricately complex that it virtually defies imitation...I'll even go as far as to say that if there were no Phil Erhart there...
