Re: Putting together a Peart-esque kit. Need help

Neil's later Ludwig and DW setups looked like the least ergonomic possible to me. The earlier setups through A show of hands looked more playable.

Maybe the Neil Peart style setup will work great...

Re: Ludwig / Noble Cooley Solid-Ply Snare Drum Collaboration - Video

Geez...I don't think it looks bad. It's kind of nondescript looking, but not like a goldfish or a donkey.

Most importantly, it sounds fantastic. In fact, this may be one of my favorite wood...

Re: Gretsch Renown and Catalina Add-on Drums

In my case it was an acutal reverb listing and the seller said they had two. I paid and waited, then messaged the seller who eventually got back with some BS. i was able to get my money back with...

Re: Gretsch Renown and Catalina Add-on Drums

Ditto that on Reverb. The in stock metric and the fact that Reverb will be the first to email you if they think they're not getting their due...even if you've don't nothing wrong.

Re: Gretsch Renown and Catalina Add-on Drums

Yeah, hows the GW kit treating you after you've had it for a while? I remember the wait and when you finally got it.

Re: My new Gretsch drums

I had that same horrible thought. Imagine calling the shop and/or Gretsch and hearing the blank stares over the phone as someone realizes the order wasn't placed.

Re: Buying drums without hearing them first

Agreed about buying some tried and true standards without hesitation.

I bought a set of vintage Gretsch without hearing them, but it was from Steve Maxwells shop in NY. I reached out to them and...

Re: My New Barton Kit

I like the sound of their Beech Bomber drums from what Iíve seen on youtube. If I were gigging or had room for another set Iíd consider going Barton.

Re: My New Barton Kit

You might be the first on this forum to pick up a set. Glad you like them! I remember some discussion on Barton on the forums a while back but I donít think anyone there pulled the trigger on a set.

Re: WFLIII Drums Review Video

Yeah...the USA customs are what came to mind. I have a vintage Gretsch set that I love, love, love...these WFL III drums are the first set I could be convinced to move to.

Re: New Rogers Snare Drums.

Do you know who owns them now? On the Rogers website there’s timeline of ownership of the assets that ends with Yamaha in 2006, then skips to 2017 saying Rogers is reborn. It doesn’t say by whom. ...

Re: New Rogers Snare Drums.

Yamaha owns Rogers now, right? Did they specifically set up a shop in the US to make the drums or are they being built/assembled by an existing American drum maker?

I've never played any Rogers...

Re: My new Gretsch drums

Open em up and smell em first! I love the smell of fresh Gretsch drums. Not unlike other drum smells, but the nitro lacquer and silver sealer smell distinctly Gretsch.

Re: My new Gretsch drums

The combo of yello lacquer and the silver interiors is killer. But I suppose with coated heads the interiors won’t be seen much, but it’s cool to know the color combo is in there.

As for the...
