Re: guitars too loud, why?!!

It always comes back to serving the song. If you aren't that into the song, you have no business being on stage playing it.

Re: Advice on GoPro type recording

If you already have a GoPro then look at programs like Movavi to mix audio and video.

If you don't have a GoPro, consider a Zoom camera which can capture decent sound along with the video.

Re: Band drama

Polite option 1: This band isn't going in the direction I signed up for, and this is not what I want to do. Bye.

Polite option 2: Discussion with all of the band. Discuss whether you want to...

Re: guitars too loud, why?!!

And we're back at the notion of serving the song instead of the player's ego.

Re: Band drama

Is the drama that the tempo wavers, and that causes drama?

Or is it that there is disagreement as to what the tempo should be?

Or that the band as a whole is slowing/speeding during the song?

Re: guitars too loud, why?!!

Interesting hypothesis, Mr Smooth, but I don't think it's correct.

Rock bands are amplified because the drum kit is a loud instrument. When you start mic'ing and amplifying acoustic drums to...

Re: guitars too loud, why?!!

Part of the problem is personal, and part of it is gear.

Personal: Being in a band is a protracted exercise in getting on with people, in many, many ways. Ability to manage volume is one of those...
