Re: Whovians among us?

Agreed. I thought Matt Smith was a great Doctor and dealt with Tennant's legacy as best as anyone could. It's a shame how the show went considerably downhill, enough so to make me lose interest....

Re: how to give a 3 yr old direction on drumming

Bringing the concept of disciplined playing into the equation this early on may be detrimental.

I think you should encourage him with playing creatively and let him to do his own thing for now....

Re: age to start drumming

Couldn't agree more.

Oh No is Madlib's younger brother, produced some really incredible stuff much like his brother, yet it's very different to Madlib's stuff. Dr. No's Oxperiment is another brilliant record.

I think Madlib is a genius along with Dilla and Doom. Dilla's Donuts album never ceases to become tiring. The Unseen is one of the most interesting albums I've listened to and Madvilliany was just a...

Re: Herbie hancock's new quintet

Thank God there's no bloody jazz harmonica player. I saw him a year or two ago where he had a jazz harmonica player with him - it turned the whole damn gig into some nightmarish jazz cafe experience...

Re: Getting "yelled" at onstage

Just as a little sidenote:

Re: playing uptempo jazz with heel down on hi-hat

I admit I'm usually a heel up player on the hi-hat, but when it comes to fast tempos a teacher of mine taught me that it's more energy saving to play heel down. In addition, there's to be none of the...

Re: Matched Grip vs. Traditional Grip: Pro's and Con's?

As a medical student - I'm quite confident in saying that this isn't true although, admittedly, I am no expert in such matters.
Most of those diseases have many factors contributing to them,...
