Re: Improve fills

Of course it's possible if you practice enough. If your exceptional. I could not do it, still after 7 years I don't think I can.

Basically, take your standard rudiments and apply them around the...

Re: Investing too soon?

I was using a Peavey International Series II kit for quite some time, around 5 years infact. It was only until I started working then I was looking at upgrading about 3 years ago. Ever since then...

Re: Double bass problem

A very, very simple answer here as follows; The time it took you where you are with your right foot using a single pedal spend the same time with the left. It is only because you've never used it...

Re: Bad Sound Engineers....got stories?

Yeah, I saw DT when Symphony X supported on their Systematic Chaos tour. I was really looking forward to SX than DT but the levels were all over the place, quite disappointing!

Having said that...

Re: Bad Sound Engineers....got stories?

I've actually remembered one now, and he really peed me off. Not just me, the rest of the band too, and even the audience as well he was that much of a tit.

This was an outdoor gig; First of all,...

Re: Bad Sound Engineers....got stories?

Haha that is just plain stupid, what an idiot! Can't say any of mine come as close as that!

Should have brought cardboard boxes instead.

Re: I WANT to break my cymbal!!!! How?????

I would just take it back and get a replacement, EASY. Or sell it on the net on good ole ebay, as someone mentioned here, someone will like it and take it off your hands.

If that was no good to...

Re: DrumTech London

My brother was going to go down there. It does come with a very high price tag though, and London itself is very expensive to live in too. If your parents don't mind then maybe have a look into it.

Re: Double stroke: moving around the set?

You need to start practicing on different surfaces really. Well what I do is usually layer up the practice pad with some cloths, obviously the more you put on it will be harder so you aren't relying...

Re: Lack of Excitement Live

Follow your singer/guitarist then and look like as if you are enjoying yourself! Ask him about it! Does the band get along well? We always do and have a laugh wether the gig went good or bad, if we...

Re: How does my practice routine look?

Rather than play single rudiments for a long period of time, I sometimes practice quite a few of the rudiments one after the other. (Consisting of the parradiddle, parradiddle diddle, double para,...

Re: Earbuds Cause Damage to Ears?

Yes, those in-ear phones are quite dangerous , just never have it turned up 'loud'. I always keep mine about mid range, but I reckon people not in the know have them whacked up. The ear drum is very...

Re: double stroke roll on double bass.

I play heel up using the slide technique. I love doing the inverted double on the pedals (RLLR) rather than straight doubles it just gives it a bit more taste when you accent the second.

Re: Difference in resonance of a drum with various lug styles/locations/amounts?

As like I said in the other thread I agree with this 100%. It's a good topic to talk about, but I don't really understand your idea (well, process) of constructing floating tension rods.

I...

Re: What do drum lugs do?

I would have to disagree there. The holes do get covered up, so in total that would be 8 screws and 8 washers. ( 2 on top/bottom) That's not going to affect the sound considerably, hardly anything...
