Re: Drum buyers block

Hi sorry. I should have been more clear. The other two are a mapex saturn in rock sizes and another bb in smaller sizes with deeper rack toms. Both were bought at rediculous prices so I can use those...

Re: If you could build you DREAM KIT, what would it be/include? (Shells, cymbals, hardware, etc.)

I would like to own a few. Currently I have two starclassics and two mapex saturn kits. This is my plan:
Keep the tri burst tobacco tama bb in 10*8 12*9 16*14 22*18 14*5.5 snare. I have a 14*3.5...

Re: 13 snare drum lugs

I should have said 13 snare drum, lugs sorry. I am looking at a 13 diameter snare drum with diecast 6lugs top hoop and 8hoops 2.3mm hoop on the bottom. I will def consider the ply drum option.

Re: 13 snare drum lugs

Thanks for all the feedback. To clear, the snare is not build yet. I do my reason before hand. That is why I am asking this question. I know I want a medium thickness walnut shell in 13*6 size with...

13 snare drum lugs

Hi all

I am in the process of having a 13x6 walnut stave snare made. Now I am not a very big diecast hoop fan so I have been looking at 2.3mm 8hole hoops top and bottom. I have also considered...

Re: Ahay custom drums Indonesia

I would love to get a solid snare with an outer carved design. I can get stave almost anywhere but this is something else that will probably be so different to anything I have ever played. And the...

Ahay custom drums Indonesia

Hi everyone. I came across their website and they have carved drums. Ply. Stave. Segmented. Solid. Acrylic. And the pricing is unlike I have ever seen. Check it out. I am planning to try one out.

Re: New kit??

I instantly thought of Mapex's obsidian. Ok it is 12*8 16*16 24*14 birch and maple hybrid shell. But a 20 or 22 kick could work too. I love small rack toms though. Or buy used shells and have the...

Re: THE DRUM MODIFICATION THREAD.

I am also looking at having work done. I have a 20*18 kick and a possible 12*9 mapex saturn rack tom in different finishes. Want to have the kick cut to 14depth and the rack to 8depth. Then I need a...

What he said. I am not a huge yamaha fan but it has more to do with the looks than sound. There are so many kits available. I have seen used oak and discontinued beech custom kits go on ebay for...

Re: Sizes for a kit Upgrade?

I have heard great thing about the ref kits. I have a 10*8 mcx tom myself and they pop. I would get a 14*11or 12 rack tom. I think the 18 and 13 might be out of place. Well Carter Beauford uses an...
