Re: Yet another "What time signature is this song in" thread

It took me a few times of counting while listening to entirety of the song for my brain to actually understand the time signature. Maybe the drum beat was too chaotic, I guess?

Also, can someone...

Re: Do you feel sorry for today's kids?

Alright, I'm saying this as a 16-year old who's among this weird generation...

Yes and no.

I'm not sorry because nowadays people had almost unlimited resources(?). You want a particular band or...

Bass pedal control

I started drumming 11 months ago, but I never got to work on my foot technique... until today. I tried hitting single, doubles and triples, but sometimes my foot creates this... bass drum "ghost...

Re: Will it affect your ability to work with other musicians if you're tone deaf?

Alright, so I decided to test my hearing by listening to a pitched instrument on a song, and apparently I can't distinguish between semitones and whole tones at all. I have (not-so) little to no...

Re: Average weight of a 4-piece kit

Was thinking of getting a Gator hardware bag if I ever have the money to buy everything... but using my schoolmates as no-pay roadies works really fine as well. Heh.

Re: Average weight of a 4-piece kit

I have a high metabolism, unfortunately... No matter how much I exercise or eat, I'm still just skin and bones.

Average weight of a 4-piece kit

Anyone here can tell me? I've always wondered about this, because I'm going to get a 4-piece myself... and I can't lift anything more than 20 kg without stopping every 15 seconds. No joke...

Re: Will it affect your ability to work with other musicians if you're tone deaf?

Yep, that's the one.

Also, after reading all the posts, may ask those who got more than 60%... Are you pitch-trained in any way?

Because my scores seems to be abnormally... low. I'm starting...

Re: Will it affect your ability to work with other musicians if you're tone deaf?

I'm also currently learning the piano... Here's the problem. When I play with my eyes closed, I can know which note is which. But when I hear other people play it (whether on YouTube, a live...

Will it affect your ability to work with other musicians if you're tone deaf?

The title says it all.

So I took this online test to see whether I was tone deaf or not... during the test, there's only 2 instances where I was able to distinguish between the pitches. And to my...

Re: Counting off issue on the piano

Hey, thanks for the replies, guys... For now I'll try lowering the volume on my keyboard's metronome so I can hear it better, then I'll try playing with my practice pad and keys along. I'll get back...

Re: What do you think about Casey Cooper (COOP3RDRUMM3R)

Give the lad a break. He's still studying (it seems).

If he still only makes covers and not make any music of his own after he finishes, then something's wrong with his musical pursuits...Unless...

Re: What do you think about Casey Cooper (COOP3RDRUMM3R)

I'll just try to keep it short.

First off, it's good to hear things straight from the person himself.

I think the lad's been misjudged as having everything handed to him on a sliver platter...

No. But if there's a very, very small time delay, I don't think I can pick it up.

Re: Counting off issue on the piano

Ah, I see. Actually, I don't have it written out. I'm just practicing counting off on one finger for now. I'll usually just choose a random note (eg: D) and play it.

Re: Counting off issue on the piano

I don't understand what you're saying much, but based on my interpretations, I assume that you're asking me whether I count off before playing ; I count an entire bar of 4/4 before starting; : "1...
