congrats, ermmm... :-)

I'd say there were probably imperfections in the bronze (being a cheaper cymbal), so the stress made it crack around some of the lathing grooves. it's tough to say, though.

hey man! i've actually made 3 of my own so far, so perhaps i can be of some help :)

With these "Gavin" chimes, the reason you get the nice "pingy" sound is because all that remains of the cymbal...
