Re: Double pedal - on it's way out.

Unfortunate news KIS. Glad to hear you have a strong, positive, badass mindset. Have had lots of cancer and other health issues in the family, so the mindset can really make a difference, keep it...

Re: Removing metal washers from tension rods

Agreed!!! Funny as I'm looking for the opposite of the OP. Looking for metal washers to on top of my HD nylon sleeve washers. They are really nice, highly recommend! And they're cheap compared to...

Re: Is Vic Firth's New Lacquer Bothering Your Hands?

Curious if that would alter them at all. Do you dry them in anyway or just let air dry, or start playing and hit the water out?! Does anyone think that the wood might absorb a little of the...

Re: Goodbye Saturns, hello Performance!

Heard one the other day and they are sweet! Never been a fan of DW drums, but I was shocked at how those sound. Best of luck, and please post pics, I haven't seen that finish!

Re: A kit to call my own, without starting a drum company

WOW absolutely beautiful!!! Just stunning!!! Props on helping and teaching others as well. What kind of bearing edges did you go with?

I've thought about making my own drums every single day...

Re: early 70's Pearl? what else?

By the bulkiness of the lugs, and bass claws, and floor tom mounts it seems to be 70s/80s. As far as Pearl, that's tough. The lugs kind of look like those old clunky sonor lugs I've seen a few...

Re: What are your stories of when people found out you are drummer?

LOL guys good stuff.

I was at the barber's on Sunday, and found out the guy I usually get a cut from is a drummer too! We both couldn't believe the other was a drummer. Intelligent drum related...

Re: Has This Ever Happened To You?

Yep! You are not alone on this. Since I'm a metal head, it can get on your nerves when every other song has just double bass. Or the same fills, but sometimes they are just right! Can't think of...

Re: Drums and allergies

Bobrush, you quoted my life story! Hate taking pills cause they don't help at all, then you become dependent.

I hate hearing antihistamine too, its almost like its racist to say to an allergy...

Re: How should a band practice?

Never been in a band, or gigged, but have jammed a little bit.

I have to say I've done those things, and not done those criticism things.

I agree with you completely though, finish the song. ...

Re: defying conventional drum set up for unique sound

Drumsinhisheart, thank you for that link about Sams. I have been trying to find rims for my bass to try out.

Anybody tried 2.3 flange hoops on reso or both sides of a 20" bass drum? I wonder...

Re: Looking for something new, need a little advice.

Used market has all types of drums and for a grand that's so easy to get a killer used kit.

Gretsch, Mapex, maybe Yamaha...so many to choose!

I agree with the others as Birch seems to be kind...

Re: Am I missing something?

Not very familiar with pearl, but did the ultracasts' have die cast hoops on them? All the sensitone snares I've seen had 2.3 mm flange hoops which would make it much more open sounding.

I use...

Re: Wonky bearing edge? Yamaha copper. Need advice.

Congrats on a smoking deal fivestring!

If you like the drum, keeping it can't hurt!

Re: Tama Gurus: What is this Tama 12" hammered steel snare?

Right on Alec! Really thinking about it. Have been for years haha! Does it tune up fairly nicely? I imagine a 6 lug can be a pain, as I had one 13 inch 6 lug snare.

Porter: Agreed! It kind...

Re: Mapex Armory series

Hah, keep it simple! I know its from marketing. Just wanted to be positive and optimistic about something that's been around, just renamed and apparently now being patented.

Re: Mapex Armory series

Mapex Mid-series are an amazing bang for your buck. Owned 2 Pro M's which are older versions of Meridian Maple with a little different hardware and bearing edge. They were first single 45 degree...

Hello DW! I have spent almost a week trying to dig up info about this drum and can't find a single thing. It's a deep hammered steel 12" x 6.5" snare with small hammer indents. I can't find a...

Re: NAMM 2014 rumors/whishes

Ludwig's idea is awesome! Have no idea why this isn't somewhat common already. It's what quite a few drummers I'm sure want, top notch shells/affordable shell pack.

But no comment about other...
