I believe he uses a 22x18 right next to a 24x18.

Re: Does Steve Gadd actually use his signature snare drum?

Pearl is infamous for doing this. Tama and Yamaha don't really do that. (Nothing against Pearl Drums)

Re: Any punk drummers that anyone likes?

Topper Headon is one of my favorite rock drummers of the 1970's. He has tremendous versatility, and "Train in Vain" has one of the best grooves in the history of rock n' roll!

Re: Jose Pasillas

Jose Pasillas is a recent discovery for me. He's absolutely brilliant, I think he definately combines all the best qualities of his major influences. (Stewart Copeland, Tim Alexander ect:)

Re: The perfect drum sound

Yeah Vinnie has an incredible drum sound. Damn near perfect.

I also think Gavin Harrison's and Dave Weckl's drums sound excellent.

Re: Tim "Herb" Alexander

Tim is great! I like the way he plays double bass, (tasteful...mainly used for fills and accents) rather than the way hordes of metal drummers play it. (constant 16th notes.)

Re: What Band influences you the Most?

Radiohead, The Police, Muse, Porcupine Tree, The Stone Roses, The Clash ect:

Out of all the drummers for those bands, I'd have to say Stewart Copeland influenced me the most.

Topper Headon

Topper Headon from The Clash, I think this guy is absolutely fantastic. I mean, The Clash incorperated almost all genres of popular music, and Topper was able to play them all in a convincing...

Re: Hi-hats playing with left arm?

Even though I'm an open-handed player, I often cross my arms and play with my right hand on the hi-hat. Nothing wrong with it. Its a good habit I think.

Re: Building speed: slow focusing on technique - or just go for it?

Slow focusing for along time. You need a lot of patience to truley master a technique.

Re: what is your favourite "subtle" drumming record

I really like the drumming of Alen Wren on the first Stone Roses album, he is extraordinarily unique and very funky for a rock drummer. I also like Topper Headon's performance in London Callng by The...

Re: Keith Moon

I think Keith was a true non-comformist, he did every thing a drummer shouldn't do, and he did it well. =p
